Should I shit can the relapse path ending?
I'm really not feeling doing the relapse path ending, for a few reasons which I'll state below.
1) Only a very small fraction of you will play it, so it's time wasted on content I could be doing for the main sober path.
2) I did some outlining for it, and It's going to take me to a dark place making it, and I'm not looking forward to visiting that place.
3) This game is supposed to be about hope, so why do we really need it? If you wanna see what it will be like you can watch Train Spotting.

Of course, I'm playing the recovery route. I just got my 26year chip in August, and I still think about how nearly everything would mess with my recovery. If I put myself in your shoes and started to tell a story that would include sex and that the sex would be even remotely appetizing...that would be bad. For me just opens some doors that I would prefer to stay closed. "Breaking Bad" got all kinds of good reviews...but I ain't gonna watch it. :) Keep coming back my Raven brutha....will return to lurker mode now. :)
Dude, kudos. Keep it going ODAAT. While I'm not on the program (never was a big drinker) my favorite keepsake from my grandfather was his 32 year chip. I carry that with me at all times to remember that I can overcome anything with will, prayer, support or whatever else I need in whatever circumstances. The strength you all have (in recovery) is nothing short of amazing and admirable.
Just to be clear, it wouldn't mess with my recovery. It's honestly just something I don't want to visit. It's the depressing side of addiction the media and movies always show. So, I don't see the point.
Sobriety is not to be trifled with. It's a battle only you know how you cope and deal with and if you feel it would be unhealthy to venture there...then by all means stay off of that path for your own well being. Doesn't matter what any of us think.
As someone who's been sober for the last 17 years and uses your game as catharsis (besides it just being awesome and loving the characters), don't risk your recovery for the sake of "completion".
