Important announcement

There will be no CC this weekend, don't worry, the CC that is scheduled to be released this weekend will be published along with next weekend's CC

I also wanted to ask what components you recommend for building a PC, as my 3-year-old laptop is starting to malfunction. I thought about buying another laptop, but I think I could get a bit more power and performance with a PC.

Ditto on your choice of Lenovo Bex. I've used a Lenovo for over 10+ years also ( and only 2 purchases - they are excellent machines) and I finally upgraded to the Legion because I broke the hinges on the old laptop when I dropped it while open . (thank God for the metal case)- it saved the rest of components - Then my husband (an IT tech) just couldn't get to it and suggested I get a new Legion - I think he secretly wanted to scavenge the components of my old one (heehee) - In all those years I have only had to call the help desk once, when I broke the hinge, and have had no other issues at all. They were so helpful the only game I use is TS4, but currently have over 12,000+ mods. (I've really got to clean house), and many other programs, including 'Sims 4 Mod Manager' by GameTimeDev (Another +++++ recommendation) - Another cool thing is it has two fans - right now I only have 16.0Gb of RAM but I have another 16.0Gb available - but really need to get the additional one installed as it's starting to get a little sluggish when I use a lot of Build & CAS mods... which my guy will get to when he can (haha) - It's x64 based system, I have AMD Ryzen 7 7745 series with AMD Radeon Graphics, 3601 Mhz, 8 core(s), 16 logical processor(s). (copied right from my system page ) He's the computer geek in our family (heehee) I named the new one 'Lenny 2'

Would it be possible for you to give us what your current laptop specs are? The processor especially? That would be really helpful knowing what your current specs are and what the programs you use are working with. So I bought a Lenovo Legion desktop in November 2025, a Legion Tower 7i Gen 10 with RTX 5080 and I LOVE HIM. But he was about $2,000 USD. I am a HUGE Lenovo fan, I've used them for both work and personal for about 15-20 years at this point. My last Lenovo was a Legion LAPTOP and he ran for more than 5 years playing Sims4 (with a billion mods), Fallout 4, Fallout76, Skyrim, ESO (all modded, if a game could be modded). I think you're going to want to focus on 4 primary things: 1) Processor - You'll want something beefy enough to handle the games you play plus the grapic design programs you use. My desktop has an Intel Core Ultra 7, and I think that would be ok for your purposes, but I AM NOT a professional grapic designer like you are. There are other brands besides Intel out there (I think MSI may use a different one), so shopping around won't hurt. 2) Graphics Card - This is one of the places that will really increase the price. Because of the games I play, I wanted a higher end graphics card, so I got an RTX 5080 - but I'm a graphics nerd and wanted to see the blades of grass moving in Fallout. If you're NOT as interested in the crispness of the graphics, an RTX 5060 (which is much less expensive but defintely not as powerful) may be a better bet. 3) RAM size - 32 GB at least. You do a lot of technical stuff and you will need it (I think, at least). 4) Storage size - Most desktops these days have at least 1 TB SSD. Please make sure you get a SSD, instead of HDD. They are more expensive, but they work better.

I steer people towards cyberpowerpc.com, where I got mine. It lets you pick and choose the components you want (i.e., can afford) and alerts you if one part won’t work with another. When I bought mine (during COVID), they were offering a 5% discount if you DIDN’T want your PC right away. I took advantage of that; it took two weeks longer and extended my budget. I’m not sure what their shipping is like to Venezuela, though. https://www.cyberpowerpc.com/

So PC Magazine rated a cyberpower PC as one of the best budget gaming laptops - it's in this article, updated in June 2026: https://www.pcmag.com/picks/the-best-desktop-computers

I used to deal with PC... but I live and work in Adobe Illustrator... I switched to MAC years ago... after finding work arounds for the IBM only stuff, I will probably never go back. When you want to do high end, high detailed artwork and graphics Macs just handle them better... no weird lagging and no blue screen of death.

MSI Katana laptops are my new fav for a gaming setup! I bought one for myself last year, then another one for my roommate, they are POWERFUL and affordable too.

Interesting... Because I've seen that the prices of graphics cards and RAM are very high.

All good As far as pc building goes it really depends on your price range and what you're looking for it to be able to do.

Ideally, it should be able to handle having Marvelous Designer, Blender, ZBrush, and Adobe Photoshop open simultaneously, haha 🥲
