May 2023 Preview: Sons of Ymir Vol.7!
Afternoon guys! A new preview today for the massive set of Sons of Ymir miniatures coming this upcoming May 2023 Release in Highlands Miniatures!
Today it is time to take a first look at the first mounted dwarf set of miniatures we've ever made. We decided, as they were going to be a light cavalry unit, to use a classic mountain animal that also fits the range theme quite a bit... a fantasy mountain goat.
Again, it has been great to work on these miniatures, specially because it is not a common set of miniatures that you are use to see inside a dwarf army, giving us some creative freedom to find interesting shapes. And we like them!
The May 2023 Release will be composed of:
1x Dwarf Mountain Lord
5x Dwarf Rangers with crossbows
5x Dwarf Rangers with two-handed axes
5x Dwarf Rangers with spears
4x Dwarf Rangers throwing axes
3x Dwarf Rangers Command Group
4x Mounted Dwarf Light Cavalry
3x Mounted Dwarf Light Cavalry Command Group
5x Goats
Now, let's dive into the Mounted Dwarf Light Cavalry!

What square bases are used in the last set of photos?
Greatest Of All Time! (G.O.A.T) 😁👍🏾🤩🤩
When can we download the dorfs!! i need ram riders in my life.
As always, the files are usually available between the 10th and 15th of the month :)
Resubbing for more dwarfs!
Back to get some cool dorfs as usual!
By the way, Highland Minis, would you like to release a throne with bearers for my dwarf king? He would be so grateful to you! :-D
Really beautiful...as usual!!! I love your models, I've been supporting you since almost your very beginnings and I'm never disappointed!
Beeeeeeestial!!!!
I really want Mongol Dwarfs now. Any chance for some goatback archers?
That would be a great addition in the future!
Does light cavalry imply the existence of heavy cavalry?
👀👀👀
Goats are very strong.
One the one hand these are awesome. On the other the goats seem just a little too small to be used as cavalry mounts by the dwarves.
Imposible hacer una caballería mejor para los enanos, son los siguientes en la lista de impresiones!!
Ahora falta halfing pesado en cerdo, halfing ligueros en pony y halfings arqueros en cabra o lobo
Geez, freaking awesome.
I love these!
Words cannot express my thanks and love for you guys! these are perfection on a ram!
Yes yes yes yes yessssss
These are incredible. I was slightly skeptical about the redux for a bunch of your older stuff (I think they're still okay and it might be a little bit of gilding the lily) but if this is the quality of your new cav stuff it's going to be a significant upgrade,
These are truly beautiful models. Amazing work. You never fail to thrill. Might have to start playing Kings of War again so I can enjoy these models on the battlefield!
Thank you very much Karsten, glad you like them! There should be more playable mounted dwarfs in every fantasy tabletop game!
Amazing!
Thank you very much John!
Mola mazo (que expresión más moderna... XD )
Me alegro que te gusten!!
Lol, homerun :-D
Dwarfs on goats always gives me a good chuckle.
Ohh esto no me lo esperaba !! Pintacaaa!!!
Me alegro que te gusten Bruno!
Thank you so much for these. Kings of war players gonna go nuts for these.
Glad you like them Alistair! And we expect to bring also a heavy mounted dwarf unit in the future too!
OMG the goat riders are AMAZING!!!
Glad you like them Andy!!
These are fantastic 😊 Looking forward to seeing the Gallia knights looking as characterful and dynamic
Thank you Will! It is going to be a challenge for sure as there isn't much room for dynamic poses due to the very little space between miniatures in a ranked calvary unit. Maybe if bigger bases... 👀
10/10
Glad you like them Alexander! It was quite a challenge but we are very happy with the outcome!
