March 2023 Preview: Swamp Goblins Stonethrowers!
Good afternoon guys!
Today we can finally start talking about the March 2023 Release, where we will see a new batch of our newest mischievous creatures... the Swamp Goblins!
But first, we have a bigger new to tell you all... Next week we will post the 2023 Fantasy Poll for you to let us know the future fantasy races that you would love to see coming to Highlands Miniatures.
And that's not all. We have been working the last week in some final miniature concept designs to show you during this fantasy poll for some of the races, to help you imagine the style we want to follow with those races.
As we have a very tight schedule, we have only managed to design just three of them, but oh man... you're gonna love them!
So, stay tuned next week for the most important Patreon post of the year!
And finally, this March 2023 Release will be composed of:
Five (5) Swamp Goblins Stonethrowers
One (1) Swamp Goblin Shaman
Five (5) Swamp Goblins Herders
Ten (10) Swamp Frogs Herd

These crazy mischievous Swamp Goblins carry heavy stones attached with robes that they throw at their enemies, but only if they manage to get them on air as some of the stones are heavier than they think.
Stones flying here and there, fancy skirts, fur... the Highlands Games? No! Just the first Swamp Goblins miniatures coming to Highlands Miniatures this March 2023!

Gobs aint my thing, but I always give credit where its due and those are some cool gobs.
I love goblin themes, the Swamp Goblins is probably my favorite set. I like their costumes
Yes, these make poor fanatic replacements, IMHO. Rocks are too small to give the feeling of their impact / weight. And to be honest, they're clearly not meant as shooting units despite the name.
I'd say they're better because they're more realistic and less cartoonish

I think they need bigger rocks. I know it sounds silly, but fantatics get overpowered stretgh with the fungus-drinks
We thought about that but the limitations of resin printing are there. A bigger rock means a bigger rope -and that implies bigger hands and a complete different body proportion- in order to compensate the brittleness of the resin. Sadly, this medium is not plastic and the vast majority of people use poor quality resin so we prefer to avoid complaints regarding broken miniatures while removing supports, transporting or playing ☹️
These are amazing, i very much look forward to printing these out! Will you be expanding on the goblins with some orcs afterwards? I have my fingers crossed so I can make a new fantasy army!

Awesome, I am contemplating starting a Goblin Kings of War army and have been going back and forth between whether to use the Highlands sculpts which are fantastic, or the Mantic sculpts which mostly cover what I need [but are notably not fantastic]. Glad to see this range is being extended quickly!

Hi Jan! As always, if by the beginning of the month we are 2100 patrons or more, the Patreon Goal will be unlocked, so we will see at the beginning of March! :)
Fun. Have you considered doing goblin slingers, like the Balearic slingers? I think we've seen lots of goblin archers, even goblins with blowpipes, but never with slingshots.
There will be many more goblin miniatures in the future so... who knows!

I first wanted to thank you both for all this amazing content!! My friends and I startet a group to play fantasy battles because of your files. And seeing just how many models you create with such quality is just out of this world! Every time I see a post from you I am again in awe and can't wait to expand the pile of "opportunity"! I am very curious about the other races you may want to start next. And lastly I wanted to congratulate you on the quality of your trailers and presentation of your models. This will be a great year!

And yeah, we are so excited abou the future races that will come to Highlands Miniatures in the future. Next week it is going to be very important for us to check the response of the community to the poll and to see what are the fantasy races people really want to see next!
Wish you coulda just made them throwing hammers ... or slinging stones with actual slings ... This strikes me as just "kissing to be clever", so to speak. sigh
What does that expression even mean?
