June 2022 Second Preview: Skeleton Warriors Unit!
Good evening guys! ⚔️
Hope you have had a great weekend. Today we want to show you the second preview for this upcoming June 2022 Release, the Spectres of Transilvanya: the Second Anniversary Skeleton Warriors Unit!
This unit is composed of six (6) core skeleton spearmen miniatures and three (3) skeleton spearmen command group. These skeletons aren't modular due to the design and thickness of the miniatures. The shields also come attached to the miniatures.
We are a little behind in the schedule because we are expending an insane amount of hours in the creation of Ezekiel, the Lord Necromancer in Flying Monster, probably the biggest miniature we have ever created!
👉🏻 About this Second Anniversary Skeleton Warriors unit... As we said in the previous post, We wanted to create a new version of the very first skeletons we did two years ago, in June 2020. Those skeletons were the first release we did in Highlands Miniatures and the beginning of this amazing journey.
So, to celebrate our anniversary we have created that unit again, putting all our love and improved skills onto them. We have sculpted the skeletons bodies again from scratch, taking in consideration the thickness of the bones (way bigger than before) in order to be printable without any issues. But as we always say, be gentle with these miniatures when removing the supports!
They are basic skeletons spearmen warriors, intended to be the core and massive horde of skeletons barely armoured, rusty and chaotic that we all have in mind!
Remember, the June 2022 Release, the Spectres of Transilvanya, will be composed of:
6x Crypt Ghosts Unit: low level spectres with rusty one handed weapons
6x Wraith Unit: armoured spectres with two handed weapons
6x Spectral Cavalry Unit: undead spectres on horses with two handed weapons
9x Second Anniversary Skeleton Warriors Unit: basic skeletons warriors without armour, with spears and shields.
1x Ezekiel, the Lord Necromancer in Flying Monster
Also, if you haven't seen our first Kickstarter to promote the Dwarf Army that is coming next July 2022 to Highlands Miniatures, check it out:

Well after Humming and Hawing for months I have decidedto jump on board. The skeletons were the push I needed. They are awesome.
Thank you Stephen, glad you like them! We expect to have the pre-supported miniatures ready to share this upcoming week!
Hello I’m new to patreon how I can download your files ???
These are awesome, great work, I hope you’ll eventually work your way to redoing the medieval swordsmen and spearmen too one day!
Thank you very much! In fact, we have already created a new miniature for the medieval spearmen/swordmen so.. they are underway! :P
these are amazeballs. I love that they are one piece, because let's be real... in oldhammer a skelly is what. four points? I need hordes. and assembling hordes is... depressing.... so yes. please this! also, I'd love to see a few more of the units from the old Vampire counts books... lahmian handmaidens for one. super awesome vampire ladies with dual swords? what's not to love? also there is a depressing lack of corpse cart models, and I think you guys could do some absolutely stunning ghouls, and varghulfs, and all manner of creepy creatures! thanks again guys, your patreon is by far my favourite!
Thank you very much for your lovely comment and your feedback Nicholas! That is right, we still have a few more Transilvanya releases to do before "finishing" the army! And the "bring out your dead" cart will come for sure! :D
Ironically I found your store while looking for some evil dead style skellies for Army project. Can't wait for more skellies.
A) Yes. You can never go wrong with skeletal units. B) I second the request for skeletons/zombies of other fantasy races. (Strangely, undead Elves are extremely rare). C) Any plans for undead creatures from Slavic mythology to go along with the troops from Transilvania? Awesome work!
Thank you for your comment Joshua! As soon as we started to work on other fantasy races, like the Dwarfs, we will have the chance to crete more undeas from those races! About the creatures, any suggestion about Slavic mythology creatures to fill the lines of the Transilvanya army? :)
Can’t wait 🔥🔥
"be careful when removing supports" - oh dear.
hahah we have increased the size of the bones as much as we were able to do it, so with normal supports they should come out without issues!
Amazing as always. Beautiful work. Can’t wait to get a close up, in-person look at these to see the differences in construction between them and the originals.
Thank you very much Karsten! We really wanted to see the printed and also painted too! Here you can see a rough render of the comparation of the bodies. The right one is the new skeleton body created from scratch: https://ibb.co/TWJDqjR
I gotta say, I appreciate the fact that their spears are held so close to the ground. I've always imagined that rotten old skeletons would use spears like a walking stick as they lumber around. Lazy bones.
Thank you for your comment! That is right! We have tried to recreate the pose of the skeletons as we always image them, practically crawling across the battlefield, and having a hard time standing up!
Next up to the Transilvanya range, would be nice with some zombie variety. Skellies are skellies, but seeing the same human zombie in your army gets a little boring. Don't misunderstand me, I LOVE your other zombies and I know you're mostly doing humans and like, sculpts but some dwarves, and other fantasy races would be awesome too. ❤️
Thank you for your comment Benjamin! That is right, we haven't had time to create more zombies because we have never expanded the fantasy universe after the humans! Now that we will start to work on other fantasy races we will see more undead miniatures from other races for sure!!
stop making me keep painting skeletons lol!
And what about how enjoyable they are to paint compared to full armoured human miniatures!
These are awesome but I do love the original ones as well.
Thank you Nicholas! The previous skeletons have some kind of an old charming, but we expect these new one to be easier to print and really enjoyable to paint! :)
Awesome Skeletons! Do I need 5th unit though... Yeah! I need 5th unit!
Thank you Piotr!! Glad you like them. We really wanted to create a new version of the very first and old skeletons to see the evolution of our artwork well represented in the miniatures! :D
