March Release first preview: the Sunland Crossbowmen Unit!
Good evening everyone! ⚔️
Hope you've had a great weekend. Today we want to show you the first previews of the upcoming March 2022 Release and also, we want to talk about what you will see this next month: the Sunland Militia! ☀️☀️
At the beginning when we were thinking about this release, we though that we would love to create one single bit unit for the Sunland Militia, but after give it a big thought, we have decided to separate the unit in three parts with slightly different clothes and style.
1. The Sunland Militia Unit: seven (7) core male Sunland Militia miniatures, three (3) core female Sunland Militia miniatures, one (1) Sunland Militia captain, one (1) Sunland Militia musician and one (1) Sunland Militia bannerman. The Sunland Militia will come with modular heads and weapons, including swords, maces, axes, bows and one-handed crossbows. You will be able to create a melee Sunlan Militia unit or a bow/crossbow Sunland Militia unit, combined with the rest of the release.
2. The Sunland Militia Bowmen Unit: 4 core specific Sunland Militia miniatures that come with specific bowmen poses and modular heads.
3. The Sunland Crossbowmen Unit: 6 core Sunland crossbowmen miniatures with modular heads and specific crossbowmen poses, as you can see in this preview.
This is going to be another big release with +22 miniatures. We are quite happy with it because if everything goes well, we will have almost the entire release ready to showcase before the end of the month. We are doing our best to recover a proper working schedule!
In the preview images you can see the Sunland Crossbowmen Unit, the very first 6 miniatures for the March 2022 Release. Let’s talk a bit about this unit.
To recreate this unit, and to create the Sunland Militia, we have been following some very cool references from several LARPS events around Europe. It is amazing to see the passion and work that some people put on the recreation of medieval and renaissance periods. HERE and HERE you can find some quite inspirational examples.
We have been doing a little research about the crossbowmen soldiers around the 15th and 16th centuries, and it seems that they were mostly mercenaries working for the Empires of that time, so we have decided to give them a different look, more "professional" rather than the "villagers look" from the Militia. We are still debating about the final look of the Militia, because we have seen some very cool references out there, some more armoured that others, so we will probably create a mix between an armoured militia and a villagers militia.

As always, these miniatures are heavily influenced by their historical representation but created with our own fantasy approach.
Hope you like them guys. This March Release is going to be awesome! ❤️

Hi, I am trying to locate the link for March Release
Hi Chris! You can find the links in the main March post which is pinned on top of the Patreon. Here you have it: https://www.patreon.com/posts/63676490 You just need to click in the big Drive banner and you will be redirected to our Google Drive Archive. I should have been clearer above: I joined up in late January and never received the email on the first of February. I was able to pull the files and printed some of those awesome ogres, but never got the email for myminifactory then.
Hi guys, I'm also waiting on shared files in myminifactory.

Hello. Just an odd question on the link for myminifactory: I’ve not been able to link my account. Never got the email. What should I do?

~ Superb Release ~ Superb Patreon ~ Superb as Usual ~
Thank you very much Paul! <3
And I thought I have printed everything I need for Sunlandia.... :D Looking forward - as always great. (I would have asked for Pavises, too, but the question already was answered.;) )
Glad you like them Alexander! <3
Finally some nice crossbowmen but poor guys in their tight pants ^^;
Glad you like them Hung! :D
Very good :-), Now a couple of mages and a crew for the arcane cannon and my army of Hammerhal is slowly getting there. :-D
The School of magic will be part of the upcoming polls to decide the future releases of the Patreon! :D
Looking forward to these!
Glad you like them Martin! :D
Good release. I always enjoy more renaissance-inspired Empire-stuff. Would you consider adding pavises as an extra?
Yes! We will include the pavise shield we already did for our old crossbowmen miniatures: https://ibb.co/PG2963s
Love it that you went to look at good larp kits for this :)
I would love to see a goat's foot or belt pully system used, the guy drawing the crossbow in the back looks like he's working too hard XD
To be honest I would have appreciated to stay longer in the Winged Hussars / Cossacs / Slavic theme ^^. These miniatures of course are very cool. I appreciate that you nearly always mix some females into the troops - who doesn`t like this can just skip them when printing but my wife likes to play females in fantasy settings as much as I like to play males - so very nice that you deliver both options most of the time. One thing to mention: The trousers and upper garments could be more seperatred - the look at the one`s back looks like he is wearing a onesie. Keep on the good work and stay healthy!
Thank you for the suggestions Bob and glad you like them! We will come back to Volhynia in the near future! :D
Just awesome !!!
Thank you very much Enji!!
Gorgeous models!
Thank you very much! :D
They look fantastic! I think my favorite models of yours so far. To think that it should be crossbowmen - I must be getting old and boring ;D
Thank you very much Niels! Hope you like the rest of the Militia too! :D
Excited for this lot!
Thank you Simon! :D
