First look at the December 2021 Release and info!
Good evening guys! ⚔️⚔️
Hope you have had a great weekend; we have spent these last few days working hard on the first miniatures for this December 2021 Release, the one you guys voted the most in the last poll. We are super anxious to work on these miniatures because we really like the aesthetic and it seems to fit pretty well with the Christmas season!
First thing first, the December 2021 Release will be composed of:
Fanatical Zealots Unit
5x Core Male Fanatical Zealots miniatures
3x Core Female Fanatical Zealots miniatures
3x Fanatical Zealots Command Group miniatures
Inquisitorial Band
1x High Inquisitor miniature
2x Male Warrior Priest miniatures
1x Female Warrior Priest miniature
2x Male Witch Hunter miniatures
1x Female Witch Hunter miniature
1x War Hound miniature
And a few more cool things!
You can see in the preview the core Male Fanatical Zealots miniatures. At the moment we are working on the rest of the Fanatical Zealots unit, so let’s talk a bit about that! 📚
This Fanatical Zealot unit is composed mainly of people condemned by the Stralsund Inquisitors for their heresy and forced to fight for the Cathedral of Sun. We have gathered a lot of cool references both from historical and fantasy backgrounds, with heavy roots on the Spanish Inquisition and their holy background.
📚 In the past, when someone was condemned by the Spanish Inquisition, they were forced to wear a cloth garment and a carboard cone in the head, sometimes painted with some colours or draws, indicating the penalty they will suffer. The cloth garment used to be named as “sambenito” and the carboard cone is called “capirote” or “capuchon”, and it is used nowadays in the Holy Week in Spain.
They also carry some papers that certify the punishment imposed by the auto-da-fe. The auto-da-fe was the ritual of public penance carried out between the 15th and 19th centuries of condemned heretics and apostates imposed by the
There are many amazing paints representing those scenes, like this one from the painter Goya: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Inquisition_Tribunal#/media/File:Francisco_de_Goya_-_Escena_de_Inquisici%C3%B3n_-_Google_Art_Project.jpg
This one from the painter Velazquez: https://www.museodelprado.es/en/the-collection/art-work/condemned-by-the-inquisition/e992a83f-bf0f-4d1a-bed5-ac5b2ee7419b
Or also this one from Goya: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Francisco_de_Goya_-_Los_disciplinantes_-_Google_Art_Project.jpg
We have tried to represent the aesthetic of the people condemned by the Inquisition, with shackles, cloth garments, and also the aesthetic of the penitents trying to redeem their sins.
📚 For this last one purpose we have gathered also some references from our own hometown, Orihuela, which is a village located in Alicante, south of Spain. As you probably know, the Holy Week in Spain is a very famous cultural and traditional event, specially in the south of Spain. You can read more about it here: https://classroom.ricksteves.com/videos/holy-week-in-spain
Even if the most famous event is located in Sevilla, almost every big village in the south of Spain has his own representation of the Holy Week, including ours! There are two specific events happening in our village the Maundy Thursday, also called “Jueves Santo” in Spanish, that we have used to create some of the miniatures.
This one, called The Silence: https://www.enamoradosdealicante.com/fotos/el-silencio-3/is a very solemn procession in which all the lights of the city are turned off and only the lanterns of the penitents illuminate the streets. And this one, called Christ of The Good Death: http://cristobuenamuerteorihuela.es/procesion.htmis celebrated in the midnight, where the penitents wear those long cloth masks and torches. Very scary!

This patreon sure is worth every cent, love your work :)
Thank you very much Martin!! :D
I am always happy about your designs, just love it ^^ Just need battle mages , crossbow men and archers and my army is full set of your studio ^^ I saw you put the Young griffon knights to download are the thin supports coming later? I always was happy with you pre supports but this time I was abit unhappy, the kinght helmet with the visor open... why so many supports on the face? almost all details of the face were gone :( I am not good at doing supports by myself but I heard putting supports on the face should be avoided. That's all for the complain ^^; Good job overall :)
Hi Hung! We have just uploaded the Thin supports for the Knights of the Rising Sun, so now if you refresh the Drive folder you will see the new zip called "Knigths of the Rising Sun - Final" with the standard supports and the thin supports! About the helmet, sometimes you have to choose between a few supports around the face or thousands supports in the back. The feathers are quite fragile so it was just our decision to not overkill them with supports. That file could be a good one to learn about how to do your own supports, heavily recommended if you are in the 3D printing world, so you should give it a try! :D
Que grandes que sois!!! Enhorabuena. Vais un paso mas allá con las refernecias que dais.

No one expected the Spanish Inquisition. :D Great sculpts, as always. What I really like: somehow those guys remain me of the ones who‘d stormed the Capitol. Weirdos with strange mullets and tinfoilhats… :D Looking forward and thanks for the Xmas present… there will be Cossacks some day. :D
