Knights of the Rising Sun - Full Preview!

Quick post today to start the week with a smile! Here we let you the preview of the Knights of the Rising Sun mounting young griffins. ☀️
The unit is composed of three Knights of the Rising Sun with modular heads, weapons and shields and four young griffins, one of them without any kind of armour; with three custom bases available for round and square bases. Also, we have created a custom shield and a specific weapon for this knights based on a poleaxe.
To work on the young griffings we found some cool historical references, specifically about the Opinicus, a variant of the classic griffin very common in the heraldic art of the middle age in England. The Opinicus were said to be born without wings which reportedly develop over the course of the creatures life, so they perfectly match our idea of the young griffin, leaving the big winged griffin only for the bravest hero of the Empire of Sun. Today we have uploaded to the Drive Archive the Sunland Knights on foot, so you can now download and print them, along with the Sunland Knights on horse. We are going to make the final cuts to these miniatures and send them to be pre-supported!
The last miniature for this November Release will be November Patreon Exclusive: The Baroness of Lunnenburg on horse! We are working on it and we will show you the preview very soon!

It looks like like for griffin 3 in thin supports is missing
Yes, that one probably got lost in the process of support the minis. We have just notified the missing file to Atlas and they will add the thin supports to that one as soon as they can :D

Will the riders be separable from the armored griffins? I'd love the opportunity to mount other characters on them.
Of course! All our mounted miniatures always come fully separated from the mounts 😃

Hope there will be options for command group.
There is a pole axe with a small banner attached to it and an optional captain head, so you can create a captain (with any weapon from this November Release that you want to use) and a bannerman from these knights :D
Hey they have poleaxes! Can I use those on the dismounted sun knights?
Sure! All the weapons have the same joints, so you can use them in any miniature :D
These are amazing, but I'm not 100% sure how one might actually use a halberd from horseback... 😉
Thank you Will! Actually it is really easy. Did you see the big hammer in the back of the poleaxe? You just have to drop it in the head of the first one passing by your side 😂

I really like your work. I would like to ask if it is possible to provide all the young griffins without their armour, and not just one, so maybe we can rescale them to the size of a griffin hound?

This is just amazing!! And a scaled down version of the unarmored young griffin will proxy perfectly for gryph hounds! Have been waiting for this for awhile by far my favorite build thank you thank you!!

Bravo 👏 really nice work, is there scope to have them split at the Opinicus’ head and armoured equivalents be available? I like my heavy cavalry to be ‘HEAVY’ and the mounts being fully armoured would further reinforce this

awesome, any chance there will be some female riders and a non full armor rider set?(a) one can hope.
That would be great! You will be able to put the Baroness on these griffins, but we will try to create at least two female knights bodies and heads for these! (Dont know if we are going to be able to do it in time for this release or for December)

Thank you Axel! The hand with the weapon come separate from the arm, and also the heads and the shield. You can use any of the weapons and helmets available for the Sunland Knigths (and the rest of modular weapons and heads we have created for the Sunland army!) :D

By the gods… this is insane! You did it! You were able to transform the majesty of those animals and their riders, their proudness, their might into the sculpts. I am speechless.
