October 2026 Preview: Undead Horrors!

Undead Horrors

Our favourite time of the year is coming! 🎃

October approaches. The air grows colder, the nights darker, and something ancient stirs beneath the earth. And from the mist, the dead begin to march once more…

Spooktober is coming to Highlands Miniatures. 💀

This October, the gates will open to a month of Undead Horrors, necromancy, restless spirits and things that should have stayed buried.

The October 2026 set of miniatures will be composed by:

  • 5x Undead Wolves

  • 1x Rasputin the Necromancer (hero miniature)

  • 1x Ghoul King (hero miniature)

  • 2x Sorrow Banshees (hero miniature)

  • 1x Mounted Skeletal Lord - Battle Standard Bearer option - (hero miniature)

  • 1x Dismounted Skeletal Lord -Battle Standard Bearer option - (hero miniature)

  • 6x Dark Knights -updated-

  • 3x Dark Knights Command Group -updated-

  • 4x Dark Knights Steeds -updated-

The dead are getting ready. Are you?

Dismounted Lord

As we mention last week, only the Dismounted Skeletal Lord with Battle Standard Bearer option was left to be sculpted. Well, it has been sculpted and we love it!

Hi! I’m not sure if this post is in the right place—if it isn’t, I sincerely apologize. I’m completely new to wargames. I’ll admit I’m not really sure where to start, and I’m not sure I understand everything. I really like the aesthetic of the Norsemen, and I figure that since I’m just starting out, I might as well choose something I enjoy! Do you have any advice on how to get started, any prerequisites for beginners, or must-haves to get first, etc.? Thank you so much!

Hi there! Thank you for your comment. No worries! First of all, glad you like our miniatures! Regarding your question, Highlands Miniatures provide fantasy STL miniatures that can be used in many wargames from 3rd party game publishers as 'proxy' miniatures: not official miniatures. There are many STL creators in Patreon and MyMiniFactory creating STL miniatures for many wargames and role playing games, from sci-fi to fantasy. When you subscribe to Highlands Miniatures, you receive a set of STL miniatures based on the month you join. For example, this October our members will receive a digital set of undead miniatures from our Transilvanya range of miniatures. To print STL miniatures, you need a 3D resin printer and some equipment, including gloves, mask, resin and a clean station to clean and cure your resin printed miniatures. If you are now entering the amazing world of wargaming, we recommend you to take a look at some Youtube videos about some of the most played wargames these days. Also, if you have access to a local wargaming store or club in your area, you should definitely pay a visit and check out what games are people playing, as that will guide you towards something you can play with other players!

can he do on a classic 20x20 base?

H
Highlands Miniatures · October 6, 2026

Hi Nicolas! The miniature is designed over a 25x25mm square base, but as you can see in the preview images there is enough empty space in the base so it will probably make it for a 20x20 base. In any case, 20x20mm quare bases were designed for 28mm heroic scale miniatures, so you can always print them at that scale -88% to 92%- and they will fit for sure!
