Baby is almost here and what to expect
Hello Brains and Hearts!
My BABY BRAIN (or Heart!) is almost here, I can’t believe it! I’m so excited! She’ll be arriving this Thursday, February 29th via a schedule c section. As such, I’ll be taking a couple months for maternity leave. Don’t worry! How to ADHD will still be posting our regular videos and most perks should be uninterrupted. :)
Brain Board, the team will keep you in the loop for your monthly livestream!
While I rest, heal, and take time to bond with the baby, Harley — our lovely community manager many of you have already met around here! — will continue reading and responding to comments here on Patreon, and will be doing so across many of our platforms!
Thank you so much for watching, subscribing, and ultimately, supporting me and the team here on Patreon… but above all else… thank you for making this one of the kindest, most supportive communities on the internet.
I’ll miss you all and will be back soon!!

I'm so excited for you and hope everything goes swimmingly! Enjoy maternity leave and getting to know your new little person!!!
You know more than you know, trust yourself mamabear, you're gonna do great!
Congratulations. You will make a great parent. I also have ADHD (ADD).
be well, it should all go well, and enjoy it!
I’m so happy for you! Please enjoy your downtime with your baby. Congratulations mama!
So happy for you and Dr. B. In observing my brother with my baby niece...he and his wife use an app to track feeding and sleep schedule Based purely on observations of my bro with his new baby: Take lots of photos and videos because they grow fast. Make sure you are in the photos with them. Use a photo book service to turn some of those photos into a book to celebrate milestones. Talk to them a lot. Play with them a lot. Keep them on a routine so you can predict when they will eat and sleep and plan your life around it. Track how much they eat to make sure they are eating enough. There are baby tracking apps for this.
How exciting! Wishing you a good delivery, hope all goes well! I wish you a good recovery and a thoroughly enjoyable bonding period for you and baby and Raffael. All the best wishes for a wonderful new life! ❤️ 🧑🍼 Will miss you, but am fully okay with that and am looking forward to you coming back.
I am so excited for you!! February 29 will be the easiest birthday to remember 😂 You are going to be such absolutely awesome parents and thank you for sharing your journey and you're being sent so much love and support from all around the world! ♥️
So happy for you Jessica and your partner (name escapes me)! Spend as much time bonding and learning the parenting game - I wouldn’t be concerned about distractions - you’ll be fully present and occupied - right from the start😄👶🍼🙏👏
Good luck on the 29th and enjoy your time bonding with the baby. The magnitude of what you’re about to do (bringing sentient life into this world) is both humbling and exciting. Given that you and your partner are neurodivergent, it’s likely you’ll be welcoming a new brain, and I’m sure they’ll thrive with your love, support and guidance.
Congratulations to you. Take the time that you need to recover and establish your bond with the newborn. Our "Baby Brain" is now a teenager who watches your YouTube and reads your book. Please accept the gift of our love in this endeavor.
Also -- I hope this makes its way to Jess -- FED is best. I put myself through a lot trying to breastfeed when that wasn't a viable option for me/my babies. I loved the connection, but ultimately we may have all been happier if I would have "tried different." 💗 I don't regret it though because it does form a special bond.
Congratulations Jessica! I highly admire the courage you have to have a baby even with ADHD. All the best for you and your family! Rest well!
I bumped my subscription a level for maternity leave support 💗 I'm so thrilled another mama has the means to do so and I want to support that! Much love to your family Jess, and YOU. GOT. THIS!!! So excited for baby brain/heart!
Arrange rides now to wellness appointments, the sleep deprivation is no joke. It's also worth it. 💜💜💜
I *THOUGHT* I was ~•~totally fine~•~ because I didn't FEEL tired.... But figured out after 2 babies that the sleep deprivation was the root of my "bad brain" sad feelings 😔
So exciting! I wanted to start a leap year tradition for my family but I think you've got me beat there. Hope all goes well and enjoy your time together. Rest and give yourself grace. Parenting is hard but awesome but hard.
Oooh, a leap-day baby!!!! Best of luck, hope everything goes smoothly. <3
Wishing you a safe delivery and an easy C-section recovery!! My wife and I (both ADHD) just had our son right in the middle of the Super Bowl two weeks ago -- enjoy the early days! Things were overwhelming at first, especially with baby care being stacked on top of near-daily appointments, but the appointments slow and so does the overwhelm. :)
I am squealing with excitement. I'm also SO impatient because I wanna know what beautiful name you and Dr. B chose. Being parents isn't easy but it's worth it. You two are going to be great parents. Please don't worry if you make mistakes because that is how we learn. Would you be willing to give that blessing a hug from the Kadtkes in Delaware? We already all love her.
Wishing you all Joy, Laughter, and Golden Memory Making.
