Hello, Brains and Hearts! It can be tough to not fall into therapizing or even parenting each other when both partners have mental health challenges, so we wanted to share a bit of our experience navigating mental health challenges as partners... not parents!

This video has probably made my partner and I realise things we had been trying to figure out for four years. It made both of us feel understood and hopeful and validated and we burst out laughing a few times because of how many similar situations we have been in!
This was so inspiring and refreshing and I'm so happy to see you guys communicating so incredibly well 🥰
So grateful for the courage and effort it took to do this-- seeing two people ready to talk about the really hard stuff of life and try their best while clearly loving each other is inspiring!
Thank you for this video! I'm so happy that you and your partner are in a great place. It gives me hope for future relationships!
Jessica, as an AuDHDer, I would strongly recommend removing or replacing the link to the Medical News Today article covering the topic of PTSD/cPTSD and autism. The author is not competent to speak on the topic. Specifically, the medical reviewer lists their credential as “BCBA-D.” This indicates that they have a doctorate focusing on applied behavior analysis (often abbreviated as ABA and referred to as autistic conversion therapy within the Autistic community). ABA practitioners are NOT required to take even a single introductory course on autistic neurology or Autistic culture. They falsely classify autism as a “behavioral condition” and use a system of dehumanizing rewards and punishments to coerce Autistic people (chiefly children) into suppressing their traits. The inventor of ABA, Ivar Lovaas, also co-invented gay conversion therapy. ABA practitioners are not qualified to speak on any matter related to the autistic neurotype or the Autistic community, and putting forward an article written by one reinforces the false notion that they are “the experts” on autism and Autistic people. If you ever see the title “RBT,” “BaCBA,” “BCBA” or “BCBA-D” next to someone’s name, they are not experts; they are ableist con artists. I am not an ABA survivor myself, but I can guarantee that if any of your other followers are, the fact that you are citing ABA practitioners in your work will trigger them.
Just the fact that the author of the article confidently cites a 1 in 68 prevalence number for the autistic neurotype (when the actual prevalence figure is 1 in 36 according to the CDC) is proof enough of their grotesque incompetence.
Hi Jessica, I have to thank you for saving my marriage. We'd been together for 28 years and married for 27. I had finally resigned myself that there would not be a 28th anniversary. He's a MENSA member, never late, loved by one and all. I have a number of unfinished projects, lost friends, you know the type. 😁 After years of my missing "this" and being late for "that" (those are the highlights!), I was professionally diagnosed a couple of years ago. I was 54. Then I found you on YT & was flabbergasted! Everything you described was dead on. I would try to tell him about the parallels & continually begged him to watch. I knew exactly when he had finally watched your video "ADHD in Women". He came in the door and kept saying, "Now I know why you're always late, why you procrastinate, why you..." Thanks to your exceptional videos, he now watches ADDitude webinars on relationships and of course, your videos! Tonight we'll watch your new video! To say thank you just doesn't begin to describe how much you are loved and appreciated in our relationship. We are still together, are actually communicating, have more patience, and can be in the same room without blowing up at each other - all thanks to you. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you... 🥰🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗 Linda
