Enjoyed the panel very informative. The off centre not so good for the OCD. I wanted to jump in the screen and centre the backdrop.
I was dissapointed who ever organised Australia's VidCon did not have this. You are awesome Jessica for stepping out and doing this.
So very helpful! Thank you!
I loved this so much! The part towards the end about talking about it, and especially from the perspective of teachers, was so important. I make a point about talking about my adhd to my students so they can see that I'm living a perfectly successful life with adhd (butI might need a bit of help when I've put my pencil down on someone's music stand but I can't remember where I put it!) I'm hoping the more my students hear me talking about ahdh, the less they will associate it with just the hyperactive/obviously impulsive kids in their classes, and start to realise there are many ways to have adhd! Thanks so much for sharing this panel with us :D
Jarvis is my spirit animal
Thanks for sharing- I learn new things with each of these! A couple of thoughts... Your panel appeared to be predominately Gen Y / Gen Z. I'm not a You Tube creator but perhaps there are some that are in older generations as well? I was diagnosed about 9 years ago and now in my late 40's (yikes!). I appreciated a lot of Jarvis's experiences and insights as someone who actually managed to figure out a lot along the way that enabled a successful career. That's not to say that I didn't beat myself up a good bit along the way and now as an entrepreneur knowing and understanding my ADHD has been invaluable as it would have been easy to just hang it up and blame myself when I run into the "walls of awful"! Also, in case you haven't connected - perhaps there is an opportunity to work with the Representation Project. I hadn't really thought of it before, and the conversation about media and entertainment representation of neurodiversity was spot on, and this organization is doing a lot to bring awareness and drive change in many areas.
