The Chopping Block
Together we have all cultivated a community that thrived and flourished for over a decade. Our forest has been burning for a while now, and that fire is finally reaching my little corner of this wonderful grove.
I am so sorry to inform everyone that I will no longer be able to work on, feature, or otherwise associate with The Rose Garden trilogy here on Patreon. That includes A Petal Among Thorns, A Moment of Bliss, and Over the Moon.
I will officially only be working on The Judas Ghost for the foreseeable future. If you're supporting me here on Patreon, your money is going towards me making content for The Judas Ghost.
I know a lot of you are going to be angry. My survival is on the line at this point, and my head is on the chopping block. This is my attempt to save myself from destruction. I want to bring you all great stories, wonderful content, and many more years of warm, wholesome characters. I can only do that if I can survive this purge.
Thank you all for the years of support you've given me. With any luck, we'll have many more years together.
Stay hydrated.

It's okay man, I'm sad but it's okay.
Thanks, Macie. I have something in the works though. All may not be lost.
I have only just found you and got into the trilogy and really was looking forward to it being completed. I understand that your work of this platform can now only be games like TJG which as many have said, I thought as adults we should be allowed to write what we like and ready what we like. we fought 2 world wars to fachistium and yet here we are in a world that thinks sex is wrong and adults need to be controlled! B***Sh1t! I'm for ever hopeful that maybe a DM or some other way to find your other works and the completion of Rose trilogy. Fingers crossed I can get into TJG🤞🏻. I'm sure it'll be good but not as great as the 1st 2 was for me.
I'm sure I replied to this, but now I don't see the reply. I don't like this situation one bit, but I have no power or control over all this. I appreciate your support, and hopefully the future will improve our situation. It's likely just going to get a lot worse though. Unfortunately.
what a shame... bye and good luck
I'm gonna stay subscribed for a bit, you created something that reached me. Maybe you can find another forum for that work? Perhaps you could create a website then put your content behind a paywall? Your seem to have a core fan base already. Just a thought... The characters have become emotionally significant to me, though I admit I was a bit turned off by the MC's abrupt turn in personality in OtM. Either way, I'm sorry it's become a problem for you. I certainly understand. It's almost painfully awkward for me to even type here, I wouldn't have the guts to be a creator. I wish you all the best!
Thank you, Guy! Im still holding out hope that The Judas Ghost does well. It will have a captivating story, interesting characters, and sexy content. It might do really well and I'll be able to keep creating. Time will tell. I appreciate your support!
This may be enough for me... I've been contemplating suspending my subs for a few months, gonna be travelling in the fall and could do with saving every penny. This may be time the to flat out boycott Patreon for me. It may hurt devs, but putting my money into the pocket of people caving to christo-fascists just doesn't sit well with me.
No worries at all. Hopefully the industry stabilizes one day.
I understand the choice but hope in the future you could come back and finish the project. Was introduced to the series recently and really like the storyline.
I'm going to do everything I can to circle back to it one day. As soon as the insane censorship crusade ends.
I fucking hate Patreon. I'm not joking. If I could support a content creator I like without involving those asshats I deffo would. For that matter, any time a creator I like is on both Patreon and SubscribStar, I register with them on Subscribestar.
Subscribestar has managed to avoid this problem thus far. I've seen a lot of devs move to that platform for this exact reason. Tbh, I was wondering when patreon would hit you with this bs.
SubscribeStar will enforce the same policies once they get bigger. It's happens to all platforms eventually. I do have a SubStar, but it doesn't do nearly as well as Patreon unfortunately.
That is a hard decision to make. I'm sorry to hear that. However, sometimes a door must close before another door will open. Hang in there, As hard as it is try to stay positive, and focus on what is important, not the urgencies so much. I think most of us will be here or at least close by. Good Luck to you!
Thank you, Riidher. This is a speed bump. In a few months, maybe longer, I should be back on track. And TJG is going to be great. People are going to love it. I'm sure. I appreciate your support.
This really sucks. The only thing I can think of is for you to do what others do, and that is to remake the games with the default relationships like tenant, landlady, roommate, and such, and then either make the relationships customizable or have a patch to change the scripts.
Lets focus on The Judas Ghost for now and just see how things pan out. I don't want to take any more risks if I can help it. It's time to play it safe. I appreciate your support, dpas. Give me a month or so and we'll see where everything is at when the dust settles.
This must have been a hard decition and a hard post to write. I'm not Over the Moon happy when reading it, but I do understand your predicament. I hope you dont have too big reduction when it comes to patreons.
Thanks, Rex. If TJG does well, it'll bring in a whole new group. Here's hoping.
I recommend looking to other sites for supporters. I am doing the same.
I'm sure you have done your due diligence of fighting this outrageous change. I've done quite a bit of reading about everything that's been going on for our creators. I hope you find a clear path and can return things to normal in time. I just joined a membership purely to post but originally I found you through Petal among thorns. It may not help but I've been hearing the word Web3 come up alot in my readings. Regardless, you make great stuff, keep it up how you can and protect yourself
I'm here mainly for the trilogy but I like TJG so I will continue to support as long as I can hoping for better days or another alternative, but I have a question what allows TJG to be saved for the moment?
The MC is a stranger to all the females and they are all just college students with a teacher from the same school. Different setup from the others.
As far as i can see this does mean that the Payment Processors have people following Visual Novel artists for the content in their work. Wonder if they do this on the bosses accounts? Probibly, cause they will surely forbid there workers to have an account for them selfs, would they not??? Prudes as they are. Suppose religion has everything to do with it.
Religion definitely has a big hand in this. No doubt about that.
Sorry to hear that is happening. I guess that's what happened to one of the other content creators I followed on here who creates various SFW and NSFW AI pictures. Are you looking into other places to be able to get supported to work on all of it? The creator I mentioned moved all of his works over to https://boosty.to/ May be an option? I don't know a whole lot about DeviantArt but I know the creators on there can have people subscribe to support them.
With other sites, you have to consider reach and longevity. SubscribeStar and Boosty will be held accountable for the content they host too eventually. They also don't have the reach that Patreon does. I dream of the day I can build a whole team to work on amazing content that I can bring to my fans. I can better reach that goal by being on as many large platforms as possible. I'm still going to bring you amazing content, Firehawk. I promise. The Judas Ghost has such wonderful characters and the story is going to be incredible after I get some content pumped into it. I'm not going to let you down. I know this loss is harsh, but I'll make it up to you.
I had heard something about banned content on linked Discords, but nothing about any content I've seen in any of your games. That really sucks. I may have to drop all of my support from this platform if this continues. Oh well, good luck with The Judas Ghost. I'm not a huge fan of Sandbox style VNs, so 🤷 Let me know if you find another way to get support for The Rose Garden, as I really want to know how it's going to end.
Lockheart, is this all due to Patreon policy??
Patreon is following new rules that are being enforced by the Payment Processors. Patreon is in the same boat I'm in. They're just passing on the bad news. They can't continue to operate if they can't take payments, and the payment processors won't work with them if they're doing business with certain types of content.
Just provide backers with a BSB and bank account no? Cut Patreon out of the loop? Or I guess a Paypal account would be better.
PayPal and Stripe are actually the problem. It's the payment processors that have taken a stance on acceptable content, and Patreon is beholden to them.
I'm really beginning to get fed up with Patreon & Discord and their Prudish BS
Unfortunately they're being squeezed just like us. It's actually the payment processors that are enforcing these rules, not the platforms. They don't like this anymore than we do.
I'm out of the loop, what exactly happened?
Payment Processors won't allow payments to go through for certain types of content. They've drawn a line in the sand that platforms aren't allowed to cross, and that line is moving. When it moves, creators over the line get banned from platforms. Usually without a chance to come into compliance. I'm trying to get ahead of the ever-moving line.
I agree with Contemno, let me know if there is another path to support the other efforts. I will be removing support on this platform.
I understand your decision. I sincerely appreciate your support. I don't believe any platform is going to be safe from these fires. I'd recommend waiting a few months to see where all the pieces land. It may already be too late for me.
That's a shame. Excited about TJG but still had hoped that you would be able to complete your trilogy.
I thought I had more time. I was wrong. :-/
Let's say I'm here almost exclusively for the Rosegarden trilogy, would I be better of changing my support to another site than Patreon? I'm aware that you're hanging in by a thread here, but I'm seeing this as a way to continue supporting you and the project while not giving my percentage to the people making your life difficult.
I have seen several already hit by patreon for various reasons. Some devs are disconnection there discords from patreon also just to be safe. I will officially support you here for TJG, but I did enjoy the others. Do what you have to do for your future.
You have to do what you have to do, sadly I never really got into Judas Ghost and was mainly here for Rose Garden. It's disappointing to see it go away after 2/3 completion, and the start the 3rd chapter was looking good. But also not sure if reading behind the lines, but when you say won't work on / feature "here on patreon" and I will only "officially" be working on Judas kind of leaves it open to some kind of alternative?
I will only be officially working on The Judas Ghost. If you're giving me money, it is strictly to fund The Judas Ghost project. I have no plans on working on anything else in my spare time right now.
Will you be updating them on another platform? Also I am bummed to hear about this but you have to take care of yourself. We shall support your decision but if there is another spot you will be doing these projects just let us know we got you.
I'll be officially only working on The Judas Ghost. I'm not going to work on any other projects in my spare time right now. Lets just see what happens in the next month or so.
So, only no longer on Patreon, correct ?
If I were to work on any other projects, I'd be doing it strictly on my own personal time and not in association with my company. I have no plans right now of doing that. I need to see where all the pieces land and commit myself entirely to staying alive.
