Borrow Books From Library
I came up with idea for this mod while making Bookworm aspiration. It was quick and fun to do it :) First Sim needs to go to Library and talk to Librarian to sign in. Then each time they want to borrow a book, they first need to talk to librarian. Librarian is available in the library only during the day (I think between 8 am – 10 pm? ).
You can borrow only 1 book at a time. I costs 0$.
Remember to return the book on time (until buff expires). If you don’t, you’ll pay regular fee of 5$. To return the book, just click on it and choose interaction.
There is an interaction to extend the loan period of borrowed book (phone interaction), and also an interaction with librarian to pay a fee for a lost book (this will allow to borrow books again without the need to return borrowed earlier book).
I think it adds a small bit of realism to the game and finally makes libraries functional :D
One known thing that I can’t change – once you borrow a book, you can actually return any book that you have, library won’t care ;D what's important - you returned the book, that's it.
Requires only base game.
For the mod to work you need also XML injector (the current version).

MY SIMS DONT HAVE THE LIBRARY CARD.
Hi, to get a card you need to sign up, to sign up, you need to talk to the librarian. If you don't have the interaction to sign up, check if you have for sure xml injector installed properly.
ive downloaded it but when i go to the library and click on the librarian it doesnt say borrow book it just lets me talk to them like any other sim how do i fix this?
At first it should say to sign up to the library. If it doesn't, make sure you have xml injector mod installed as welll
Hi! When I click on the library and the "Borrow a book" interaction, nothing appears, and it tells me I've borrowed a book, which isn't true. Can you help meeee? :'(
Hi, sorry for late reply. Honestly, not sure what could happen. If you see the tooltip that you've borrowed a book, it means you have a buff/moodlet already for the borrowing. Maybe try to click on some book in Sim inventory to check if you can return it? In the worst scenario, just take out the mod completely, turn on the game and save without the mod (this should reset all things my mod did), and then you can try to give this mod another chance. If you notice still some problems, please tell me exactly what happend. I still didn't clear this mod for the new patch though!
hi hi, is this mod still compatible with the sept. update?
Yes, it is. You can always check my patch posts on Patreon, last one was this: https://www.patreon.com/posts/patch-18th-1-118-139182053 or Mods status on my wix site.
Hello, I have a question, do the mods come with the translations included or should I download them separately?
For this mod, all listed translations are integrated. If you need to download, then I always add a link for download page :) at least if I'm aware of it ;)
Hi, I don't know if this translator will see your comment. But if not maybe Blubbie can help? Or Helene912?
Awesome idea! Im excited to use this
Thak you! :] Hope you like it!
Such a cute mod! Thanks for this I can't wait to use it 😊
