Monday Portion of News

Hello,

This week short update about Realistic swimming mod progress :)

So last week I was working on these 2 points:

  • interaction to save a Sim from drowning (if another Sim has a special S.W.I.M Mastery trait) - the mechanism is working but still needs some tuning

  • creation of build/buy objects - pool floats - based on the ones that are available through CAS, and this is the result:

The plan now is to add interaction to purchase a choosen pool float via computer. It will go to the Sim Inventory. Then by clicking on the object (through Sim inventory or placed in the world) your Sim will be able to wear a pool float - it'll work with BoschianaCC CAS. And once your Sim wear it - they don't drown :)

And basically I am very close to finish, hopefully this week I'll close all "development" points and go to final testing :)

I promise I'll add sent to me translations over this week :)

Take care!

I'm excited for this update. I previously didn't use this mod because I'm terrified of watching all my sims drown but I really like the addition of having someone attempt to rescue someone. Would be great for sims who have the lifeguard job.

I'm happy to hear that :) Yes, now saving the Sim from the drowning will be enabled for "certified" Sims, but also a Sim will be able to wear a pool float not to drown. However, the drowning is not that excessive :D I disabled inactive households from this disaster, so only currently active family can be affected. It was always like that, cause otherwise it would be very dangerous for our Sims ^^

Hi, I love your Mod it's so realistic! I love to use it since not everyone can swim in real life. I wanted to ask you if it's possible to make a floating beach ball, where 2 or if possible more sims could play inside a pool. If just 2 Sims could play with a beach ball inside a pool I would be very thankful. Since I started to play Sims 4 I wondered why they haven't made one beach ball yet. Please, please make one if you can do it? Idk about the animations though, maybe we could ask pancake1 and mizoreyuki to do the animations, but this is very important for me. Well, if you can do it I would really appreciate it. If not, I'll try to look for something like it and if I can't find anything like it I have to really learn how to use blender and install it on my other PC to make it. Blender may take to much memory for my PC rn, but I'll really learn through Youtube Tutorials on how to use blender and then how to use it with Sims 4 Studio. Ravasheen has wonderful Tutorials about it too. PS: Is it possible to make a reading skill for Sims, so they learn it when they are Toddlers (If Genius), if not just children and then the skill would have 10 Levels and the adult and elder NPC's, the playable Sim and the townies would all have the Reading Skill from the beginning of the game right on Level 3/5 since they are already adults. I would like to know how to do it, I watched a lot of tutorials of Xodr but its too difficult on Sims 4 Studio, I wished there were a program to make Skill Mods for Sims 4. Thanks in advance!

There is a literacy mod by llazyneiph. It is on the same page as the royalty mod but I think it works independently.

This is looking great, thank you for the updates! I was wondering if in the meantime you would also find it agreeable to make the mod compatible with Waffle's comfort motive, in the sense of comfort increasing when swimming (because the water sustains most of our weight, thus relaxing the muscles and providing comfort). Waffle has indicated the resources needed and his permission for modders in this post: https://www.patreon.com/posts/for-modders-100097197 If you are willing and find it a good enough idea, I would love this little feature added in your available time.

YAY!!!! The pool floats look so good! And the idea of being able to save drowning sims is so perfect for this! I am so excited! Sounds like you have had a very productive week!

Mostly weekend was busy and spent in Blender hehe, I had many fails before this final outcome. But yes, it was very productive and I'm very happy :)
