SPECOMP
Spectral Analog Compressor!
SPECOMP will compress overall signal and naive frequencies up to its magical circuit and tame whole range of sound.
This compressor based S-Type console compressor but heavily modified.
A simple meter to show overall gain reduction and frequency compression.
Plugin has simple compressor's settings as usual but magic is happening inside!
You will notice SPECOMP will put everything together, instantly!
- ANALOG OBSESSION label is oversampling. Simply click it and engage 4x oversampling.
- Touchscreen support
- Resizable interface. Simple "Bottom Right Corner Handle" to resize. 50% to 200%.
*Resizing Tip: When you duplicate plug-in, it will remember current state of GUI size. But if you load new instance, it will be opened at default size. To get rid of this issue, simply follow these steps;
1. Open plug-in for the first time
2. Resize GUI according to your screen resolution or you liking before setting any knobs
3. Save this state as default preset with your DAW
Now, you will be able to load new instances with same size.
(If you want to go default size, simply double click to resize handle.)

When I engage this compressor's oversampling my computer pops and and then my audio drops out in Logic, the only other plugin I have used that has this problem is OSS. I don't know what is wrong.
Can you please add a channel linking and unlinking function to your compressors? It would make all the difference in the world when you use your compressors on stereo channels. Without this functionality on your compressors, you get too much ducking and too much of a narrowed sound on stereo channels. Please add Channel linking and unlinking function.
I like it a lot! - It is clearer sounding than my native SSL bus comp and the Waves SSL. With the SSL the glue comes at the expense of everything losing its sheen and space a bit. - I like the ballistics of the meter, much faster than various SSL emulations. It gives you a much better visual of true compression. A bit like LEDs gone analog display. I like your style!
There is a 8db decrease in volume when you render/export in Wavelab with the Vst3 version? Can you please fix this?
Just out of curiosity: Is this happening just in Wavelab or in other DAWs as well?
I really like this plugin!
Thank you!
Mr. Tunica, quick question. What do you recommend using this compressor for? Or what do you think is the best purpose for it?
Bus processing is better option with this one to tame resonating frequencies. Thanks!
Hi Tunca! I love all your work and you're great! This plugin is awesome. I only noticed that when you lower the threshold, the gain reduction meter is working even if there's no signal passing through. Is that normal?
Hi, it's normal cause there is self noise for sidechain section and it will show spot when audio not passing thru. Thanks
Hi Tunca! Thank you for a great sounding tool! Today I've found somewhat weird behavior when no signal comes in but gain reduction meter shows some value. Screenshot https://prnt.sc/1bfg647 Is it normal? Also, RELEASE tooltip says "2000 sec" for maximum value, screenshot https://prnt.sc/1bfhk8w Isn't it a typo, maybe 2 sec is meant (2000 ms)?
Hi Alex! I have the same problem with this awesome plugin.
Okay, I can confirm that. However, I don't care. As long as you know that behaviour... and as long as it sounds good it is like having a quirky piece of hardware. :-D
Hi Tunca. Thanks a lot for your hard work in making such plugins. Just started to test them out. After a video I've seen on youtube I checked the gain reduction in your compressors and I have observed that in some of them (e.g. this one and the BUSTERSse) the dB reduction in the meters is twice the gain reduction I measured with a tone generator and a metering plugin; maybe you are summing the gain reduction in L and R channels? On the other hand in LALA for example the reduction in the meter a priori does not apear to have a linear relationship with what I measured. I know that most important is how they sound and use the ears and not any numbers, but just wanted to let you know so you can consider a fix on that for next versions. Again, many thanks for the work you do and I'll definately will start to try them out on my mixes! Cheers!
Hi! Thanks for your interest and detailed feedback. Definitely will check meters. Thanks!
I want to write a review about the plugin, as I have already used it on many materials! This compressor is just perfect for gluing or flattening any type of audio track. It can also be hung on groups or on the master track without any problems! To be honest, I do not see any problems with the lack of a filter for passing low frequencies, since in a ripper this can be solved using any equalizer, as well as routing. Thanks again for such an incredible device!
Great work as usual! Thank you for these great tools. I replaced nearly all of my other plugins with yours!
Thank you!
Thank you Tunca!
Thanks fo mix knob!
Version 1.1 is ready to download! Check post for changelog.
Bug Issue Report: Using Wavelab 10. The gain reduction meter stops working after about 5 to 10 minutes of the plugin being live.
Thanks for feedback. Will check it. Thanks!
This is just wonderful! I'm working on a client's EDM-song (is supposed to be on radio after its release) and had issues making it sound cohesive. I had Buster on the mixbus followed by this lovely boy here. Worked perfectly! Another winner from you!
Thanks for another great ssl style compressor! Very nice design, especially color shades, I love YOU, MISTER TUNCA!
Great Danke!
Thank you! Great work! Love the sound of it! I'm missing the filter session in the sidechain and the mix knob. Those are a great part of others Analog Obsession designs.
Hi, thanks for your feedback! I wanted keep it simple. Easy to set and get great sound!
thank you for your amazing work! <3
You're welcome! Enjoy!
