STEQ

STEQ is based small format console eq from well known tape machine brand.

FEATURES

Easy to use coloration eq with variable frequency (150Hz - 7kHz) on Mid band and fixed High (10kHz) & Low (80Hz) shelf.

Also, included one knob optical compressor.

Each modules have their own bypass. When you bypass EQ and Compressor, preamp section will be still active. So, you can use it as line preamp.

Simple but effective channel strip for you!

First one in native format!

Resizable interface. Simple "Bottom Right Corner Handle" to resize. 50% to 200%.

*Resizing Tip: When you duplicate plug-in, it will remember current state of GUI size. But if you load new instance, it will be opened at default size. To get rid of this issue, simply follow these steps;

1. Open plug-in for the first time

2. Resize GUI according to your screen resolution or you liking before setting any knobs

3. Save this state as default preset with your DAW

Now, you will be able to load new instances with same size.

(If you want to go default size, simply double click to resize handle.)

Would it be possible to get a re-release of STEQ with the old smaller GUI that had the blue, red and green knobs, please? I really liked how that version looked Huge fan of your stuff, keep up the great work!

Awesome Plugin!

Hello! I'm sorry if you get this a lot but it would be really cool if you can make this 0 latency, maybe next update? I've been using this a lot. Much love, cheers. ( :

Oooof. Just wow. This thing sounds so incredibly well. Amazing. I guess, this is going to be most of my vocal "chain" from now on. Well done!

New subscriber here! STEQ was the first AO plugin I fell in love with. I love the simplicity of the EQ and especially the one-knob compressor. It's the plugin I recommend to people who are new to mixing and using channel strips because it's a very focused and easy to use plugin. It's perfect.

Anyone else getting this error message? "The archive is either in unknown format or damaged."

A
Analog Obsession · January 4, 2022

All download links and files tested on different machines and there is no issue. Please, try another browser. I don't know your browser but sometimes Chrome and Safari causes some download issue. They show that download is finished but actually not. Thanks.

this too is one of my favourites. just upgraded to M1 mac with Big Sur, and I am not being aloud to download it "security issues from unknown developer"

Analog Obsession · May 19, 2021

Old plugins not notarized for Catalina and Big Sur. All will be updated. Thanks!

This is by far my favourite EQ. I find myself reaching it for it all the time!

Really glad this VST subscription came along; Waves start having LSD flashbacks and become a lot of pants-shitters if you approach them, trying to explain you've replaced your computer. Analog Obsession stuff sounds better, anyway. All you're missing is a studio reel tape sim, but I'm sitting good with the ones I have until.

I really like this EQ. It would be very nice if you have some tweak-abilities for the opto comp.

R
Rutger Stikkers · April 21, 2020

Agree, great EQ! Anyone using the opto-comp on this plugin? If so, what for?

A
Ambedo · April 22, 2020

Whenever i put this on a track i just play with the setting and see if it makes it sound better, if it does then i keep it, if not i just turn it off.

This thing blew me away. Great work!

damn, this eq/strip is seriously sooooo damn good. Ive been using it on trap/edm neuro bass type sounds and its doing some heavy lifting. Abusing the preamp with a bit of added high end brings out some godly tones! Throw merica on afterwards and add a bit more eq boosts and wow!

Hi Tunca - Would be really cool if you would work on a bigger tapemachine-emulation plugin. Stuff's really popular these days too! Cheers

Analog Obsession · April 4, 2020

Why not :)

I like these slight variations in the harmonics too much, can't even explain what exactly changes, but it does :) Some invisible, but surreal "device" saturation that joys. Just tried in a chain, followed by Sonimus Satson (channel), and such the combination is gorgeous! Who can - let try ... Many thanks again!

Such a cool sounding, quick eq. Great for when something has been recorded fairly well, but just needs just a touch more (or less) of something to fit into a mix.

Thanks!

I'd like to suggest that you produce a survey for your patreon supporters so they you can find out what we might be interested in seeing you develop i.e is it more important for the supporters to see more new plugins? or improved algorithms to the ones you already have? How important are additional features? GUI improvements? I think if you did this it would provide you with a focus & keep (most) patreon supporters happy

A
Analog Obsession · March 28, 2020

Thanks for idea! I have some plans about this.

Anthony Lee · March 27, 2020

By the way, I've been using Prebox today. I really think you should make it available as it's so good

A
Analog Obsession · March 27, 2020

Still working on it. It's really complicated. There are lots of models. Re-designing preamps for best processing... It will take little long time.

A
Anthony Lee · March 27, 2020

Thank you. What are the fixed low & high frequencies?

A
Analog Obsession · March 27, 2020

You're welcome. Edited post. Mid frequency 150Hz to 7kHz High frequency broad shelf at 10kHz Low frequency broad shelf at 80Hz
