0.12 - Progress Report #1
Hello everybody!
It’s finally time for the first progress report on the 0.12 update! So far, there's around 5200 words of dialogue, 68 renders, and technically 4 animations—one of them is actually made up of 3 separate animations pieced together, featuring one of the new characters.
I know the numbers might seem low, but there was also a lot of work beside doing renders and writing the script. For example, the 2 new girls of this update were made from scratch, unlike Anna and Claire from 0.11 which I already had made a base design for them. There are also two main events left (and tweaking the existing ones) to finish to be done with the script:
The first Ms. Reed visit which gave me some headaches because her original apartment setup had major fuck ups when I was trying to bake in the lights. I ended up switching to a new apartment that actually works and that I can customize.
The last event, which involves the girl you see up there, which should officially mark the end of Chapter I
I was also experimenting with character thoughts, since there's a clear majority that prefers to know exactly what everyone's thinking. I added a few of them in the Prologue and Chapter I Part 1 (0.11) at moments I think are the most important, but there should be even more in the 0.12 update to enhance the storytelling.
I’m aiming for a mid-December release, but there's a very good chance it won't be 100% complete by then. I’ll still share a beta build so you can test it out.
As always, I’m putting as much time as I can into this project while balancing everything else in my schedule. Thanks to your incredible support on Patreon, I’m currently earning about $1,600 a month—which is amazing, especially considering it’s only been a little over two months since the first version launched. I truly can’t thank you all enough for everything, you're all making a huge difference! While I’m not yet at a point where I can commit full-time, we’re steadily heading in the right direction, and I couldn’t be more excited for the future.
