I really hope after The Sopranos wraps up that The Wire gets picked up, if only to keep up with the HBO slot. Recently voted #2 series of this century, with The Sopranos not being eligible due to it's release date.
you guys mentioned it. Maple needs to see American History X, It is a hard watch but i think its worth the story.
I'm not familiar with tarots, but the parallel to the 10 of wands is pretty striking. It had to be intentional.
Janice actually seems like a good mom. The way she was able to handle Bobby Jr. when we all know Bobby was about to fold. She came in and was like "nah you fucking suck at school, go do your homework." Seeing a character take some responsibility was just so refreshing lol. Vito's story is so good. He runs from his life because it will literally kill him. Finds a new life that is nearly perfect, and then run back to the old life when he realizes his new life actually takes work.
Agreed, I love the Vito storyline. It really puts into perspective something we obviously kind of knew already, when guys like Tony complain about how hard they're working all day, it's such bullshit, they're constantly slacking off and have no idea what an actual day's work is. I think the Vito storyline gets unfairly maligned due to a lot of latent (or not so latent) homophobia from the fanbase. For a queer relationship in a TV show from the early aughts, it's a surprisingly nuanced portrayal.
