They really were parked in front of Michael Jackson's childhood home in that scene. The home is less than 700sf, and 11 people lived there at once.
This episode took place the day before Eva was born - Richie told the story of this trip to Sugar in S3E7 when she asked him to tell her about Eva's birth. When he got home Tiff was pissed and so he stayed home all day the next day, they went and got Thai food at the place they loved, and Tiff went into labor. What's crazy is how far gone Michael already was at this point in the show's chronology, and this day happened roughly three years before he committed suicide. So just imagine how that spiral went.

Yeah, Gary, Indiana, is mostly famous for a prosperous city that completely fell apart. I think I read an article that said Gary is a serial killer's heaven.

I grew up in a Chicago working class neighborhood, and I amazed at how accurately this show depicts Richie and Jimmy portraying working-class people hanging out with each other, bickering, and just getting through the day. Its surreal
