There's no shame in using subtitles with this show. I've worked for years with folks from the Republic, but these northern accents can be tough even for me to parse at times.
I've lived with a person from Northern Ireland for fifteen years, and I still struggle to understand her relatives sometimes.
I always feel that the setup to this episode is a little laborious - Mary giving away their dog, then the dog not responding to Erin's voice but running away from her. But everything from Father Peter's entrance is great. Sister Michael's contempt for Peter, and for priests in general, never gets old. Nor does Erin's delusion that she and Peter have a special connection.
