Mare of Easttown 1x3 | Watch Along

Please Watch Task later! It was made by the same people and was so great!!!!!

these character are so richly drawn--with both pros and cons, its brilliant writing!!!!

You all should check out "Task" came out last year on HBO. Crime drama

The show does a lot of these holy shit cliffhanger twists towards the end of episodes, like the accusation towards Frank last episode or the reveal of the Deacon throwing away the bike this episode. It's both one of the show's greatest strengths (it keeps it exciting) but also a bit of a weakness because the trick does wear a bit thin after a while and I kind of stopped trusting the narratives that are being laid out. Not to say it's not still a great show, I especially love the character work, but I did notice that particular storytelling trick, especially now on a rewatch.

-Evan Peters' eyes when he is telling his break-up story - the hurt behind them - the eye watering without crying - in the middle of the one of the best drunk acting performances - just amazing, chef's kiss. - the humor generated in this show without trying to be funny is amazing and so needed with the overall subject matter of the story - incase this is unknown: Julianne Nicholson (Lori) is a Law and Order vet - having starred on L&O: Criminal intent for multiple seasons. - I love the character note of Siobhan initially declining the date offer as she has a GF and that wouldn't be right. I think it helps she only reconsiders the offer after working on the doc for her brother and is reminded how short life is - don't live it unhappily (not to excuse her if she hasn't broken up with the GF yet) - scenes with actors like Kate Winslet & Guy Pierce have a full conversations in a specific American dialect when they are English & Australian, respectively - still amazes.
