I forgot how freaking good this movie is, thanks for giving me an excuse to rewatch it. For great Corey Feldman movies for the camp channel "The 'Burbs"; "The Lost Boys" (Also has Kiefer Sutherland) and of course "The Goonies". For another great River Phoenix movie I highly recommend "Sneakers".
This movie us beautiful. Ya'll HAVE to watch the Goonies now, its a similar classic, just much lighter and more fun
One of my fav movie! And the soundtrack is amazing oc
My favorite game to play while watching these reactions is "guess what they recently watched." The only movie I remember using the word "rat brain" is Battlefield Earth, and i really hope that isn't right.
For a great Campy movie that also stars Corey Feldman, and another big, young name at the time Corey Haim, I cannot recommend The Lost Boys by Joel Schumacher enough!
For some reason, this was a movie that my mom let me watch before I hit double digits. It was definitely a coming of age story for me. Here's a nice little moment from the making of this film: Rob Reiner was apparently very good at directing the children. At one point though, when he needed River Phoenix to break down and cry believably, Reiner told Phoenix to think of a time that an adult let him down. After getting a great scene, River couldn't turn it off, due to real trauma he was going through. So Reiner, just kind of hugged him and held him as he cried, and some reports say that he even just shut down shooting for the day. So many other directors might not have cared, or at least have been annoyed that the day was shot, but Reiner cared about his performers. Okay, I loved this movie and reaction. Now I have to endure Maximum Overdrive, a movie I thought I'd never watch again, but I love this double feature tonight!
I've never seen you guys get choked up on an epilog, but I get it, it's a beautiful movie. All-time cast of kids. Stephen King can write a fucking banger when he wants to, and that's how this story came to be. Critics said he couldn't write a serious story so he wrote this and Shawshank Redemption (plus a couple others) in a book called Different Seasons and he ended up making two of the best movies ever.
At the beginning of Different Seasons he had a page that just said "It is the tale, not he who tells it." And I think that perfectly encapsulates the work of King. You might think he's just the horror guy, but when he puts his mind to it, he creates fucking genius art.
I can't stop laughing. When Adrianna was going through the list of names instead of "Jerry O'Connell", I think I was on the same exact train of though. I was going through the same list of names and couple place the right one.
Aw man that ending was so sad wtf.
I know right?!
Stephen King double feature, let's goooo!
Great choice as a tribute to Rob Reiner. Plus its such a wonderful coming of age story!!!
Joaquin Phoenix's brother River
Even though I've seen this a hundred times, I still get anxious when that train's coming and Vern won't get his ass up!!
And the fact Chris was played by River Phoenix, who passed away at 23 makes it more sad. So much of life ahead of both the actor and the character to be snuffed out so suddenly.
RIP Rob Reiner
