I never watched this movie when I was growing up. I was aware of it. I figured it was a corny black and white movie. Finally watched it a few years ago, and wished I had been watching it every year. Great movie. It's hard not to cry at the end. Now, y'all need to check out the SNL sketch with the "Lost ending of It's a Wonderful Life."

I really loved the comment that one of you made that this was 5 movies in one. In two hours we get a coming of age story, a romance, a drama, followed by a Twilight Zone episode. I had not thought of it that way before, but very spot on!

Yeah the government almost banned this film when it came out during the “red scare” because the FBI said it was communist propaganda.

You two sobbing at the end is the best thing. Now you know why this is my favorite movie of all time. I watch it every year because that reminder at the end about how no man is a failure who has friends, it’s something I always need to hear. I cry every time. So thankful I’m part of your Patreon at the right time for this!

I feel like we should remember that while George Bailey wasn't fit for service, Jimmy Stewart was a highly decorated combat veteran in WWII and became a Brigadier General in the Air Force Reserve. He flew planes on bombing runs in Germany and killed nazis. Jimmy Stewart was a certified American hero.

I'm kinda copying David Lynch when he talked about this movie, but when Jimmy Stewart filmed this movie just coming out of the war in 1946, he wasn't sure if he was still able to act the way he was able to before, glad to know that was completely unfounded as his performance in this is one of, if not the, greatest pieces of acting I've still ever seen.
