The commandant while obviously similar to snape is far less greasy and over-all far less of a bastard by all standards
What made the two friends when they were enemies is not respect. It's forgiveness. It always comes down to that. Even in the real world. 27:30 you two seemed to have missed it but the reason why Mikasa looked a bit mad is cuz Christa blushed when Eren said something to her, so it looked like they were "flirting" to Mikasa.
Oh cool! You guys are almost done with the prologue!
Another minor detail. In episode 1 when Hannes was about to attempt to save Carla and the kids, in his inner monologue he mentions he can now repay the favor he owes. In "Bystander" we see that Grisha actually saved his unnamed wife from the epidemic that was spreading at the time. It makes his failed attempt to save Carla back in episode 1 even more tragic because he probably feels extremely guilty not being able to save her when Grisha was able to save his wife and he couldn't "repay" the debt he felt he owed. This show really punishes you for paying attention to certain details because that is just heartbreaking.
Remember the post credit scene for next episode. Just a heads up
You NEED to watch the next episodes end credit :) or people may yell at you lol
I wish I could experience these episodes for the first time like you guys are. Boy oh boy, are you in for a ride, as are we getting to experience it again vicariously.
I think Kenny's story is so unique and sad. A person born into a ruthless environment, and failed by their society. Cause of that he lives by violence and kill or be killed. He see's himself as worthless, and so doesn't consider himself worthy of being a parent, and yet so badly wants to know what its like to be empathetic. The ultimate power he felt he couldn't achieve was to see the world in a compassionate way.
I'm glad you saw those two episodes together; both are incredibly profound. Kenny and Keith's story and motivation
The thing with Keith is he didn't try to sabotage Eren or make him fel that he wasn't special because he disliked him. He thought he was doing him a kindness by not letting him feel the sting of disappointment.
Not the "titan guillotine" lmao
i can’t believe i never noticed the snape parallel! if you haven’t recorded it yet, next episode has a mid credit scene. best to just watch the credits through. getting so exited for the rest of the season!
The life within the walls is not a Paradise...
