Arianna might die of laughter before this series is over haha
Yeah, the jokes and puns and references just come one after the other, it can be overwhelming trying to pick up everything the first time. (Unfortunately?) almost everyone reacting to this has seen the show multiple times, so you'll get some detailed responses about all the jokes you might have missed (or didn't appreciate as much as they did). Speaking of which... Lindsay's conversation with Michael about "the homeless guy" copies a conversation Michael and Gob have in episode 1x16 after Michael has a one night stand with Maggie Lizer, the "blind" prosecutor ("What's wrong with her [him]?" "Nothing's wrong with her [him]! ...She [he] is blind [homeless]...") Just like his sons in season 1, George Sr. doesn't know how to say "brother" in Spanish. And in 2x2 George Sr. is beat up by the Mexican police the same way Oscar was beat up by the police multiple times in 2x1. Oscar's incredibly unsubtle hints about who Buster's real dad is (along with the accompanying music) is one of my favorite gags. When George is pretending to be Oscar at the hospital, you see him try and massage Buster, but Buster says "ow" and pushes him away. Buster trying to get hit as the house falls apart is a reference to the silent film star Buster Keaton. Also the Blue Man Group, like Keaton, does silent performing arts. The board members truly are sheep, they're so easily led. The fact they were so impressed by GOB turning a $100 bill into 100 pennies that they immediately approved his appointment as president is hilarious. I have no idea why the titles of both these episodes are done in the same style as the episode titles in Friends. I'm a huge fan of Avatar The Last Airbender, so I love seeing Mae Whitman (Katara) as Ann. I'm also a huge fan of It's Always Sunny, so I love seeing Charlie's mom on an exercise video for Kegels.
Her?
That's a great episode. "George Michael, I'm sure that Egg is a very nice person. I just don't want you spending all your money getting her glittered up for Easter." "- Get rid of The Seaward, Gob. - I'll leave when I'm good and ready."
Anne is the voice of Katara in Avatar
I am a huge fan of the fact that they always find some creative way to block the mouths of the actors when they say a word they have to bleep, like when Gob takes a drink as he says "I fucked the business model." Also i just realized that has two meanings, he literally fucked the model and he ruined Michael's idea. Oh my god this show is still delivering hits.
Also Buster standing under the wall as it drops only to end up in the window is a reference to a very famous stunt by Buster Keaton where he did the same thing
I dont know if you guys read these comments but feel like you might like "Its always Sunny in Philadelphia" this show and sunny are my all time favorites
This is my favorite season, I can't wait for all the foreshadowing to be realized by the girls lol.
GOB freezing up for seven minutes is a reference to George W. Bush freezing on camera for seven minutes after being told the second plane hit the World Trade Center on 9/11. The "Mission Accomplished" banner on the fake model home is a copy of the giant banner hanging behind Bush when he triumphantly and prematurely declared victory in Iraq in June 2003. Thomas Jane starred in THE PUNISHER the same year this episode aired. He also appeared in BOOGIE NIGHTS, DEEP BLUE SEA, and THE MIST. Posters for his fake smash hit movie HOMELESS DAD show up several times throughout the series.
When we first meet Ann (Egg) in the final episode of season 1, she is played by Alessandra Torresani. When she appears in season 2 she is played by the very different-looking Mae Whitman. At the time, Mitch Hurwitz wanted to play into the idea that Michael never recognises her and Maeby refers to her as "no-face Ann," by using a different actress to play her after every episode. He apparently dropped this idea at the very beginning of season 2 because she would appear in many episodes and recasting the role every week would be difficult.
Also she stayed because Mae Whitman was great. And she used to co-star in a show called State of Grace with Alia Shawkat who plays Maeby.
Can't believe i've always missed the name of that fitness video "EZ-Keglin'"
Lynne Marie Stewart, she is charlie's mom in "Its always sunny.." she just passed earlier this year RIP great actress
"get rid of the Sea-ward" "I'll go when i'm good and ready"
"solid as IRAQ"
Other way around lol 2x1
