The Hunger Games: Catching Fire | Watch Along

I haven’t watched the full thing yet to see if it’s mentioned or remembered that Peeta lost his leg at the end of the first book, and that’s why he falls in the snow and takes Katniss down with him when they’re on camera for the first time in Catching Fire. As well as why he is very hampered physically in Catching Fire, but because they left out that he is now a disabled amputee out of the movies, so it doesn’t really make sense in the movies like it does in the books.
Truly, some of the things that they leave out of the movies do not make any sense at all for the story because it just changes so much perception wise, even if the filmmakers obviously didn’t think it did.
wait did they watch the 1993 Super Mario Movie????
Watching this back with the context of the new book, knowing what's going on in Haymitch, Beetee, Wiress, Mags and Plutarch's heads just made me cry so much.
The first quarter quell, since Arianna couldn't remember. Is making each person in the district's vote who to go in the games. It was very cruel and heartbreaking.
Also, (not so) fun fact: The reason Katniss picked up that syringe at the end is because she planned to find Peeta and inject him with air to give him an embolism that would kill him and then do the same to herself because she thought they were captured by the Capitol after she broke the arena. And she would rather they had a quickish death.
Also, the lady in the background with a scary mask is an Avox, they're people the Capitol has deemed traitors, so their tongues are cut out and they're forced to permanently be servants. Katniss mentions it in the first movie in her first scene talking to Gale but so much is going on and new watchers are trying to figure out what's happening that they don't really remember it.
These movies are so damn good. Do part 1 & 2 back to back!!!
Beetee plays Isaac (leader of the WLF) in the Last of Us season 2, that's where you know him from.
You can definitely see the increase in budget for this movie. No more shakey cam and that shot where she goes up the tube into the arena going from wide to full screen. Honestly, this is one of my favorite movies. I watched it in theaters and I needed to know what happened next so bad that's when I actually decided to read the books.
Beetee is Jeffrey wright. He was Isaac in the last of us.
