Please don't keep repeating the myth that human bites are like extraordinarily dangerous, like more dangerous than other animal bites, that's just not true. Of course there's risk of infection because it's an open wound and the mouth contains a lot of bacteria, but humans are not particularly dirty or anything and have no more bacteria swirling around in there than any other animal, on average. There's some studies that suggest that maybe the infection rate from human bites is higher than from dog bites but the reasons are unclear, it could just be because most people go to the hospital when the bite from a human is particularly severe, while they would go to the hospital after any bite from a dog, or other suggestions are that dog bites tend to be crushing rather than deeply penetrating. On the other hand, studies suggest cat bites are associated with a much higer risk of infection than human bites, maybe because their bites are again more penetrating, not as crushing. But all in all, it mostly seems to be awash and human bites are not, on average, more dangerous than any other animal bites.
This will be Ellie's 4th on screen bite: - the mall (with Riley) - the museum (with Tess) - the grocery story - this subway
This quote pretty much sums up all the fighting, but I won’t tell you the source in case you watch it: “Everyone wants to save the world. They just disagree on how.”
As weird as it is to think about having a baby in the middle of the apocalypse, keep in mind... Ellie and Dina were both born in the middle of the apocalypse. The current year on the show is 2029, so if they're the same age, it means they were both probably born in 2009. The season started on New Year's Eve 2028, and Ellie is already 19 at that point, so necessarily it means she will turn 20 sometime in 2029. The initial outbreak started in 2003, so the world had long since gone completely to hell before either of them were even conceived. It was funny seeing them react to the pride flags and having absolutely no idea what they signified (especially given their own personal storylines). Also, I haven't played the game, but the scene of Ellie serenading Dina with the guitar does apparently happen in the game. Even Dina messing around with the drums is in the game.
yes even in season 1 you saw Ellie's birth and that was after the infection started because the runner came in an bit Mom during the birth. Plus so many years in people are still having sex and pretty sure the condom factories are not open so babies are gonna happen
In defense of the in-fighting, this apocalypse has been going on for 25 years now. A lot of those people fighting were either born after the world fell apart or have no memories of a world before. Just think about that first scene where none of those guys knew the origin of "voters," except the old guy. All they've known is either being oppressed by FEDRA, being FEDRA, or rebelling against FEDRA. So the same way farmers have stuff to do, fighting for resources, land, and beliefs IS their stuff to do. As for Ellie not going back, same reason, this is her normal. Out of her 19-20 years only 5 of them were in Jackson. The rest were spent in the Boston Quarantine Zone where FEDRA hung people and Fireflies blew people/things up. So while this seems daunting to us, she probably feels right at home. Dina's the ones who's the fish out of water going along with crazy out of love.
Yeah, to the infighting, that's kind of like the same thing as with the homophobia a couple episodes ago, I don't know why it's so hard for the girls to grasp that these things are still around. Of course it's nonsensical and dumb and petty, and there are more important things to worry about, and better ways to resolve your conflicts, but that's true of like 99% of all wars in human history. That's just how we are as a species. And I can't imagine diplomacy has gotten easier in this time.
Abby’s group brought up Isaac in the 1st episode. Said he was their contact in Seattle when they were refugees from the Joel firefly massacre.
yes! There are several moments in the game where you as Ellie, can sit down and play the guitar. It's interactive with the controller too, you can play any song you want really, it's definitely a nice change of pace.
Yes the guitar scene is 1 to 1 in the game. Yes you actually need to start the song by using the left controller stick to pick the chord and the touchpad to strum like a guitar. However, once you got the song started it turns into a cutscene where she sings and plays the song for Dina. It's an optional event that can be missed if you don't go into the music store.
So glad to see things picking up.
