π΄ You like Pitfall? π
Keep in mind, this is just another avoidable game you can find in your phone, IN Harvesting Corruption. Just another little mini game that's there if you want, and avoidable if you don't.
A Naughty Little Jungle Adventure!
Surprise! I've been keeping a little secret from you guys...
Remember the classic Atari game Pitfall? Well, I decided to take that concept, throw a beautiful naked explorer into a dangerous jungle and see what happens.
Meet Jungle Jane!
You play as a very unfortunate (and very nude) female explorer trying to survive the dangers of a wild, unforgiving jungle. There are plenty of hazards waiting to ruin her day, including some particularly horny little jungle men who have their own ideas about what they'd like to do with our helpless heroine.
And unfortunately for Jane, they're not particularly interested in helping her find her way home. π
I've actually been working on this in secret because I wasn't sure I could pull it off.
But now, Jungle Jane is built entirely inside Ren'Py!
And remember, this is just another completely avoidable games within the game. It's in your Phones Game Tab. Enjoy or not. It's there either way.
Yes, the same engine we use for Harvesting Corruption. I wanted to see just how far I could push it by building an actual old-school, side-scrolling platformer, complete with character movement, jumping, climbing, enemies, and environmental hazards.
There were definitely moments when I wondered if I'd bitten off more than I could chew.
But today, I finally got the whole thing working!
What started as a crazy little experiment has turned into a fully playable retro-style jungle adventure, with a distinctly Juicy Genie Games twist.
Enjoy! π΄

This is pretty awesome. Would you ever consider releasing it as a stand alone? On PC or mobile?
I don't think I'm going to put so much effort into it that it'll be truly AWESOME, so probably not... But I do have two other games coming in the future that are EVEN BETTER, and you guys will get those when they're playable. I have to get ahead on releases with Harvesting Corruption first.
one of the best games for Atari2600.
Holy shit that core memory was just unlocked. Well done. Brilliant idea. What's next? Contra? ;)
Contra or a funny version of Donkey Kong probably
Great work
Oh, how cool. A retro flashback. I hope she doesn't run into those wild natives. I wonder what they'll do to her...
I loved Pitfall when I was younger. My friends and I would Spend a good amount of time on the Atari playing it. Would've spent more hours on it if it were like this.
Are there 255 levels? At least it looks like you advance three whole levels if you go underground βΊοΈ.
I think I played that on my Commodore 64 when it came out in 1984. I know I had an Atarii before so, I may have played it in '82. Fun game then.
Unfortunately, not everyone could afford it, some of us could only play at our friends' houses. π
