Great video about HDR in windows, as always! I believe that showing SDR content, in an attractive way, in an HDR container should be a solvable problem, from an engineering standpoint, but unfortunately no solution seems to be close to be realised. On a separate note, I am getting washed out colours when I enable 10-bit colour in the nvidia control panel. Apparently this seems to be a Win11 24H2 specific problem, have you looked into it?
Hi Sven, no not yet but I'm aware of it and planning to investigate further. I believe it's to do with the new Windows ACM feature
Between this and the LG 45" follow-up article, it does seem like Gen 2 QD-OLEDs are still the choice for jumping onto 32:9? No new developments from Samsung other than a potential 360 Hz refresh (but 4K 360 Hz sound more likely), and the eventual 5K2K 45" 240 Hz is looking like a $2,500 monitor judging by the 165 Hz price. G9 is $1,400 with VAT locally although the stock is running low, and I'm not optimistic about short-term availability and pricing when LG do release the 240 Hz model.
Yes there’s no new updates for the 32:9 market I’m afraid, only the previous Gen 2 QD-OLED panels. LG won’t venture in to that segment either
