Plotting!

Kyle here! Just a quick preview of what I'm working on now, which is plotting out the lines of the shell plating on the hull.

This is a tedious task that has to be done before I can move to some other aspects of the model I'd like to, like frames. I'm also hoping to get the bottom plating out of the way as early as possible.

The bottom plating has actually proven rather difficult. After researching it and comparing original iron plans to a set of modern plans I had consulted years ago for my first hull, I found my old hull was extremely wrong when it came to the bottom plating.

I'll go into more detail about this topic later, as well as about the bottom. Sufficed to say, I'm actually glad I'll be redoing the shell plating (and for the last time for THG so hooray for that) considering the many mistakes made in the older model. The plans and resources I have available to me now make all the difference.

What you see in this preview are curves plotted on the hull shape model, albeit still rough. The bottom ones especially still need to be smoothed out, among others.
