The first test release of the Titanic: Honor & Glory Alpha is Here!
Well folks, it's time!
Today, we're happy to finally start rolling out the first of several releases for the early Patreon access phase of the Alpha!
We will be staggering the release as we work out various issues over the next week or so, with VERY early Alpha access starting NOW for Officers, opening up to more tiers over the coming week. Read further for the rough schedule for the rest of the tiers and how to get the Alpha.
But first, to quickly recap: THG Patrons will have early access to the Alpha for a time, with the content more limited for Stokers and Bakers, followed by the public within a couple of months - after our busy April events are over with and we have more stuff worked out with the Alpha.
After public release, everybody will have access to the same base shipyard level with gantry, buildings, and of course the structure as it currently stands, but further updates will go out to Patrons far earlier than the public, with some future odds and ends remaining Patreon-exclusive.
As for today's release and what to expect over the next week...
This first build going out to Officers today will contain a good deal of the content, including the gantry and much of the ship structure that's been done so far. You'll be able to change the time and weather, graphic settings, and even customize your player character a bit. There is also a freecam mode (accessed by pressing P). As we go through releases for lower tiers, we'll be working out issues and adding more of the content, though as stated before, there will be some differences between lower and upper tiers. The content you can expect and the release schedule will be as follows:
Full shipyard with gantry and structure so far (reduced during first couple of releases):
TODAY (March 20th) - Officers
MONDAY (23rd) - Engineers (and above)
WEDNESDAY (25th) - Deckhands (and above)
Gantry and portion of structure so far (excluding rest of yard):
FRIDAY (27th) - Bakers
MONDAY (30th) - Stokers (and above)
A link to download the Alpha builds will be provided to each tier as the time comes (via the Patrons Discord server and here). You'll just need to download and unzip the game. Once you're on the main menu, you'll need to click the button to log into Patreon. Another window will pop up. Log in from there (it will take you to an external browser window to log in), and then it should give you access to whatever your tier allows. If you attempt to play without logging into Patreon, you will get an empty map.
Here are a few basics to keep in mind, starting with controls:
WASD and mouse to move around, Space to jump, Shift to run.
Escape for in-game menu, where you'll be able to access settings.
Within settings, you'll be able to change graphics, video settings, camera settings, the time and weather, and customize your character.
P to enter or exit Freecam Mode. Press Escape to toggle list of Freecam controls (WASD, mouse, Control/Space for vertical movement).
And a couple of other things to watch out for:
Do NOT select Cinematic settings, it will almost certainly cause a crash, and you will need to delete the configs saved to your PC (in Users/[Username]/AppData/Local/TitanicHG) to run it without immediately crashing again.
Collision is VERY wonky, so expect some annoyances, or take advantage of it while you can for fun!
These first couple of builds will not have full content, even for Officers at first. Right now, it's the gantry, the double bottom and frames with bottom plating for the ship, and several yard buildings with plate racks laid out between them. In the next builds, there will be more including the main offices and more of the structure.
There are no NPCs yet, just your player character.
The UI is still very much a WIP.
Regardless of your tier, you'll be able to discuss playing these builds openly on the server! We won't stop you from posting about it (screenshots, videos) publicly.
As for feedback, there will be a channel for that on the Patrons Lounge server! We're looking less for nitpicks (this isn't accurate or that is an inch off or the wrong color) and more for anything that may be game-breaking of otherwise problematic, broken, or annoying.
Again, links to download will be provided on the server and in a separate post here on Patreon!
And if you are not yet on our Patrons' Lounge Discord server, you'll need to connect your Discord account to your Patreon account in your Patreon settings - assuming you already have a Discord account, of course!
This has been a long time in the making even just since the New Direction (as if we need reminding), and we're SO glad to finally start offering the THG Alpha to you all! This is only the beginning. Once we have the Alpha show fully on the road, we hope you'll enjoy the process of seeing this great ship get built!

When I start up the experience, I am just standing on concrete with small pools spread around. I deleted, redownloaded and still the same. Is there some kind of trick here?
I had to login using my H&G Patreon Login Code. Afterwards it would render the assets.
where is the download link?
Anyone know how to sign in once you've done the download - says it's not connected to my Patreon...
Well at least you can download it. I am not even able to do that.
Does it happen to anyone that the soil is only sea water? It's all in the air, without a concrete floor.
Hello how are you friend ? Plaese help play tgh ? thank you very much
Hello team tgh. Plase Help dowload. Pay Alpha and link dowloald help ? Than you sou mouch
Hello to the entire Tgh team. Congratulations on the great work. I wanted to ask where I can download it to play, or how I should do it? Thank you very much. I'm a huge Titanic fan.
Looking at the photos/stills. They look cool
Can someone upload the gameplay on YT please haha 😅
Current recommended system requirements would be very helpful. It would also be great if these could be updated with each release, as the system requirements will inevitably increase as the project grows.
This whole tier separation is just weird. Some people support you for a VERY long period of time and gave you hundreds of euros, yet you prioritize based on actual tiers, even if it means prioritizing people that come and leave within month. You could just release a single Steam version in Early Access with keys only for Patreons. There, simple as that. Instead of that you are coming up with this nonsense. And dont tell me that the game is too small for Steam. Steam release micro games like Loading simulator on daily basis.
Hi BVG. I get the frustration. But there really isn't a perfect way for THG to do this without upsetting someone. This tier system is how Patreon traditionally works. If everyone got the same early access, I assume a lot more people would feel overlooked. It's not a perfect plan by any means but it seems to be the best for now!
can't wait for this. I'm in the engineer tier
I am also an engineer tier contributor. Were you able to find the download link?
Cool! Looking forward to!
Love it so far! Only walked into one ladder, so that’s good. lol Absolutely love the ability to change the weather and time of day. It snows and it piles up, sun comes out and it melts. Ugh. *chef’s kiss* My character was a little weird though - If I looked down, my body would be facing off to the right/off-center. And it was great to peek into rooms by just pushing my face through the wall. lol That said, it’s just a test and it won’t be perfect. Looking forward to more content! ❤️
Olympic has been removed again? would be so cool to stand on top of the olympic forecastle :)
I got it, but when the game loads all I get is me standing in the water and sky and the "free version" blurb...There is no other background, no other graphics to go to.
i am a member of the Guarantee Group since 2018, when do i get the early access as promised?
And for those of us that contributed via IndiGoGo back in 2015, when do we get access to the Alpha and ultimately the game? I paid for the free passage perk.
Any answer to this one? I'm among those contributors as well...
Very cool, can't wait to play around with it.
And such a convoluted way of giving people early access instead of giving them Steam codes to have the game on Steam
It's not yet ready enough to go onto Steam.
So Q1 release is not happening for the public...
I am so excited I can't focus enough to read the whole post. I'm also feeling incredibly nostalgic. The very early days of P401. I remember a video that was posted, I don't know, some time still comparatively early into the process. I think it was one of the early flooding tests. Anyway, the entire thing was brilliant. But omg, at one point the camera was either panning or paused in front of one of the elevators, and somebody put in a brief but long enough clip of the same section of the wreck. When I say that jump scared me, I say it with zero exaggeration. I laugh about it now, but in that moment I had to pause the video. 😂 I know we're still at the beginning, but at least we're moving away from the beginning of the beginning. I am so proud of all of you, from everyone who has ever worked on this behemoth of a project, to the people who regularly engage and help move things along in who knows how many ways, to the lurkers, which is really where I fall too. Just being members is invaluable to the production of this absolute mammoth endeavor. Once upon a time, I worried that once the last few survivors were gone, that the world would gradually forget. It was the early 90s, I was in my teens, and I had no clue that there would soon be hoards of people interested in TITANIC, and it wasn't because it was coming up on the 10 year anniversary of Her discovery. I never could have imagined the surge in people who became absolute sponges for all of the different topics associated with the Ship. Heck, I'd put cash money on there being members who became "one of those Titanic people" because they were given one of the children's books that came out around the same time as the movie. What I'm trying to say is, I don't care whether you're old or young, what year you "married" Titanic, or what your level of knowledge is about the Ship or any of the myriad of adjacent topics. I'm just glad you're here, we're here, and that we all care that the entire story of it all needs to remain alive. ✌️
Well said! Exactly how i feel :) Remembering laying eyes on Ken Marschalls wreck paintings in Robert Ballards book when it came out and the effect that had, being amazed how incredibly tangible the renditions felt, and wishing we could be able to explore Titanic in all of its new-built splendour in a same sort of way. And here we are, some 40-odd years later. Absolutely thrilled!
this is super cool
I’m sooooo happy
I'm not on discord server how do I reach it.
