Important Update for Our Supporters Regarding iOS Changes
Hi everyone,
We wanted to inform you about some important changes coming to Patreon that will impact how new memberships are processed through the iOS app starting in November 2024.
What's Changing?
Apple is requiring Patreon to use their in-app purchasing system and remove all other payment options from the iOS app. This means that starting in November, any new memberships purchased through the iOS app will be subject to Apple's 30% App Store fee.
What Does This Mean for You?
Existing Memberships: If you're already a supporter, nothing changes for you. The Apple fee only applies to new memberships purchased through the iOS app after November 2024.
Avoid the 30% Fee: If you pay for your tier or subscription using an Apple smartphone after November 1, 2024, you will incur a 30% commission. To avoid this fee, we highly recommend subscribing or renewing your membership through a computer or Android device.
No Action Needed for Existing Members: You don't need to do anything to continue supporting us as usual. If you're an existing member, your current membership will stay the same.
IMPORTANT: THESE CHANGES WILL NOT AFFECT THOSE WHO SUBSCRIBE BEFORE NOVEMBER 1, 2024.

I hope Apple gets sued to hell and forced to comply, similar to what happened with their lightning port and usb-c ports enforcement. Their enforcement is criminal... Then again, if you're still an apple phone user in 2024, you deserve to be a victim of their crimes. No offense, but my humble opinion.
There is a very small fee for using android (for fraud prevention). There is no fee for using a computer browser 🙂. The Apple fee is criminal (in my opinion).
