Rick was wearing the same exact shirt when arriving to Alexandria that Shane wore in season 2. He shaved his face, similar to Shane shaving his head. And now kissed another woman who is already married. Sounds like someone else we use to know.

The other thing with the party for Daryl is probably also a classism thing. Daryl grew up poor, and is VERY aware of how people judge based on his background. They’re assuming things about him from how he looks, how he talks, all of that. Now for my autistic reading.. To me, Daryl reads as someone who can’t mask, or, I’d argue, learned to mask based on Merle and has since unmasked. Either way, he’s being asked to do something he doesn’t have the tools to do. Aaron’s approach is pretty good. He meets Daryl a place he’s comfortable (the woods), shows interest in things Daryl likes (hunting and motorcycles), and offers him a way to be included that’s less overwhelming.

Carol approaches Sam in a certain way for a very specific reason it's not just to be manipulative or rude, but she still shouldn't have done that to Sam

I love the scene with Daryl and Aaron. I think since he lost Beth, Daryl’s felt like he had no purpose. And now? Aaron is building him up again. Giving him a purpose. A reason to keep going on. Love Aaron. He’s the best 👍🏼😁👍🏼

it's a little unnerving watching Carol put on that act so well. If I was actually there I have doubts I could see through any of it. thank god she is one of the "good guys"(or rather protagonists) because we would be in trouble otherwise.

Just another way that Daryl is so different to his brother, Merle would never have had dinner with two gay men but Daryl probably didn't even think about that at all, they're just humans 🫶

Don't forget, Rick was drinking for the first time in a loooooong time, and it wasn't just beer 😅

So much going on right now 😵‍💫 I know it was terrible of her, but I cracked up a tad at the kid's petrified face 🫣 probably best I'm not a parent 🤣

Lawd we back. The hiatus made me read the comic book again. Man it's good too but I missed the cast. And missed your reactions ofc. By this point I gotta admit this now feels parasocial, it's almost like watching with one of my friends or family members. Great content I guess. Weird. Jajaja 🇭🇳❤️ also greetings from Honduras.

Isn't it ironic that for some of the group, they are more traumatized in Alexandria than they were outside? Rick had to worry about the well-being of the group for so long that he doesn't know what to do with that anxious energy.

I will say I have to hard disagree with your take on Carol deep down wanting to be that more supportive cooking cleaning type figure, I think you could argue for her deep down wanting to be that protector/mother figure in a parenting sense, but I'd say that she probably hates it. Only reason she was ever good at it in the first place was because she was forced too with Ed, and the only reason she has that protector/caretaker in her was from her having to protect her daughter from Ed. I can only imagine that being put back into that role even as a disguise probably builds nothing but resentment as it is a constant reminder of who she was, a past version of herself she considers weak and the reason her duaghter died.

Yeah Carol can be scary. Poor Sam. I hear you and do agree she was in the wrong. But Carol is Carol and it’s what she feels she has to do to keep him quiet. She has her faults for sure. But Carol is also oozing this nurturing vibe that I think Sam was drawn to and Carol really don’t need another kid on her tail. They are all too traumatised so I think they simply can’t let the guard down to trust these people 100% Except! Aaron was so good with Daryl. He made him feel safe enough to try and make this work. Isn’t it amazing how Daryl is the one letting his guard down (at least with Aaron)? Urgh I got such a soft spot for Daryl 🥹

It’s kinda cool the stamps that the kid gave Rick kinda has a double meaning it could mean A for Alexandria but I like to think of how the terminus people marked Rick’s group the the letter A 👀

Deanna is one of my favorite characters we meet from Alexandria. I love how hopeful she is about creating and maintaining a society despite being in such dire/apocalyptic straights. Future sustainability is an important thing to consider when making a survival base, having a forward thinker like that is important.

Rick's on some other stuff right now lol. Jessie needs to chill out though, she is definitely flirty with Rick. Still, they need to knock it off. Carol said that stuff to Sam because she wanted to make sure he wouldn't sell her out, she also doesn't want to get close to any kids (understandably so). I think some of our group members who have experienced some of the most trauma (not all of them, but some) are having a hard time not being 'out there' anymore. They are in a secure, safe place, but their minds are still other places and they are just having a hard time integrating into a more 'normal' community. They are so changed, so far removed from how that Alexandria people are living. And some people will definitely adapt better. I think that people like Rick and Carol just assume something bad is going to happen at any minute, so they want to be ready. Or they think that for some reason the people of Alexandria are hiding something or deceiving them with this nice facade (the way the Gov did with people at Woodbury, the way the ppl at Terminus did...) There are major trust issues, and I understand why. But they need to not be completely paranoid. The big 'problem' with Alexandria is that they are weak. They haven't been breached, and have basicallly lived darn close to how it was before the fall with minimal exception.

I liked Sacha anyway. She's like the deadliest doe. But when she popped at the party she became one of my favourites. She acted appropriately enough for me.

“Did he just pull a Shane?” Yep, when you put it like that…

This is the episode where I fell in love with Aaron. Listen, I don't like what Carol did, either, but I understand it. For one, she needed Sam to keep his mouth shut. But she also wanted to scare him away from her. After Sophia, Lizzie and Mika, she'd rather he be afraid of her than attached to her. She's protecting herself from the pain of possibly losing another child and, in her own mind, protecting him, because every child she loves dies. She crossed a line for sure but watching her do it, understanding why she did it, breaks my heart for her in the same way watching Daryl tearing into her after Sophia died broke my heart for him.

"I know Carol is doing what Carol does but that's like the most inappropriate thing as you can do." sums up her evolved character so well. We love her and get it, however, damn, is she a wild card!!!

I think we all knew that Daryl wasn’t going to be attending a Party, especially with a bunch of strangers. I agree with you that it’s not something he needed to attend, but the fact that he was stood just across the road from that party and that he was even considering it is a giant step for him of leaving his comfort zone that I never thought he would take. Aaron did a pretty good job at making Daryl feel a little more welcome in the community.
