I've now watched this 6 times with you. It is amazing every time

Loved your appreciation of Nate's discussion of grief and how people deem it "inappropriate" when it's just raw and real. It's one of many profound conversations in this show. Also the scene at the end with Nate and the people staring back at him was essentially his way of facing mortality and the fact that life goes on even when one life ends. Those people were just doing everyday things, going to work, meetings, etc. The simplicity of something so complicated kinda rattled him a bit, I think.

One thing I wanted to add was that not only is there plenty of psychology / therapy to analyze here, but a lot of it has to do with family dynamics and interpersonal relationships which seems to be Tom’s specialty (besides the grief stuff which he said is more his wife’s specialty)

OK I understand the majority polls. But 45 (thus far) of your patreon payers have liked this show. It will never receive the majority because it isn't a current show but it has 45 plus people who enjoyed it and it is the BEST show for a therapist to react to. BAR NONE. That should win out over any poll. Its 45 plus people paying for this!

I can see why people wanted you to watch this show, there is a lot of potential for therapy here and I enjoyed it too! I'd love to see more of this show!

I’m choosing! It’s weird messy and uncomfortable and I’m ready to watch it again. From certain angles I see David in Michael C Hall even today. I always stop and say there’s David before he’s all Dexter again.

Thank you Tom, for giving Six Feet Under a chance. I forgot just how intense that first episode is, it really throws you into the deep end with this family. I do hope you'll get to continue it in the future, I do think you will enjoy watching these characters evolve.

Tom, I am SO glad you vibed with this pilot and read people the way I hoped you would. I really really hope you choose to watch it as a voluntary show, because it only gets better and better. The writing is beautiful and the characters go through SO much and I feel like it would open a new perspective for so many people, definitely including yourself. It's a life changing show and it's done in such a unique way. I really would love if you kept watching. It genuinely puts such a smile on my face to see you react to this and it means SO much.

I would love to watch this with you! It was 2000, MCH was 29. Being out as gay was much more difficult in 2000, so David was a pretty unique character 26 years ago!

I'm at 55 minutes and I love that you love the show so far, I can't tell you any more without giving anything away, but I did wanna thank you for giving it a chance. This show helps me look at death a little different and not to be so scared of it. I just had to take my brother to the urgent care on Saturday and he spent most of the week in the hospital, we thought he had scurvy or hep c , hep c from a blood transfusion when we were babies and just now showed up at 44 years old. But it ended up being that he has a (aortic abdominal dissection) which is a hernia in his aorta behind the belly.. I'm telling you this because we all go thru life afraid of death i think, until we have to deal with it ourselves, (someone close or someone very close) and how do we deal with this? My brother might need surgery and it'll either be non invasive or very invasive, we don't know yet but if something did happen and he passed away, this show is very helpful for me because it really digs into death and loss if you let it. It's a part of life and its very scary normally. Anyways I'm gonna keep watching 😊
