Rick's reactions are valid imo. It is purely a trauma response to Terminus and the ptsd of being in the wasteland. Terminus lured people in with the ideal of safety for survivors, Aaron is pitching the same concept. "No alive or dead gets in or out of those walls without our say so." "No one outside the walls would hear her cry." To some that sounds like safety, to Rick its the exact opposite almost a threat in his eyes, because of the pstd that terminus caused on him.

Then they burn terminus down and Rick want to go back and take out every single one of them but the group didn't listen so the terminus people cannibals came back for Rick and the group

Th group was already in Richmond, Virginia where they went to Noah's home. Now they've traveled a little over 100 miles to Alexandria, Virginia. The community is also named Alexandria. They are in the DMV area: DC, Maryland, Virginia (Rosita pointed out to Abraham the Washington monument as they were driving)

The worse thing you can do after a period of fasting/starvation... is eat a bunch of food, especially processed foods. I'm just imagining them stopping every 5 minutes for bathroom breaks on the way there lol

I hope you realize they were in verifinia already , they were at Noah's old place where Tyrese met his demise . So the Alexandria dont go that far out 😂

👍 that was a long drive!😳

It was nice that Rosita pointed out Washington to Abraham... like he finally completed his mission to get there. I really liked Rick in this episode.... when he said 'his family' he was talking about the group... and Rick feels responsible for keeping them all alive, so he has to be untrusting. You can make quick decisions when you are in a state of desperation. But Rick let other people have their say and he listened to them.

Dale showed Glenn where the rv battery was season 2

It would be hard not to be a skeptic and cynical in this world, especially after all of their previous experiences 😫

I think it’s understandable that Rick is so cautious given what they’ve been through and the communities they’ve encountered. I didn’t trust any new people/groups at this point

You said Aaron was garbage for running. But he told them not to go that way, because it wasn't safe. But Rick insisted on going that way. Aaron stayed in the car until he felt they were out of time. Really he didn't owe them anything. Definitely not his life. You may think that Aaron could have just told them where to go. But he already said he thought that they were good people, but wasn't sure he trusted them enough just to give up his own people's safety. If you were Aaron, would you have done differently?

K
Korivex · August 30, 2026

Aaron didn't panic until he seen the flare go up. He thought Eric was in trouble and that is why he ran away.... he wanted to run to Eric to help him and that was more important than his own life or our group... that is pretty natural to feel that way about your partner.

No matter how many times I watch TWD, Rick’s distrust in this episode pisses me off every single time. 😂

idk if you caught it, but when Glenn showed Abraham where the RV battery was, he knew from when Dale would teach him how to repair the old RV.

My favorite lil detail in this episode is Glenn knowing where a spare battery in the RV was located because of the knowledge Dale taught Glenn all the way back in season 2.

Yes Alexandria is northern Virginia, close to DC . From Atlanta Georgia they traveled to Richmond Virginia for Noah. So they were just 100 miles away from dc at that point .. can’t wait for the next

Rick stashed the gun as a "just in case " the same way he stashed weapons outside of Terminus. The "J" is for Joe, the leader of the Claimers (took me a long time to figure that one out) I think it's very telling that, when Rick and Michonne are discussing whether or not to go, Daryl is sitting down, relaxed, and not on his feet between the new person (Aaron) and the vulnerable member of his family. He didn't see Aaron as a threat. Also I was today years old when I learned that the actor that plays Eric is a member of The Blue Man Group.

I never noticed the Aaron & Daryl thing & I’ve watched this show at least 30 times, I rewound just to see the connection myself & your totally on point, thank you 😊

Yes Rick hid that gun 'just in case'. And our group has just been through it's lowest points, met the most awful people. Rick is at probably his most stressed and paranoid. He's def still reeling from the loss of the prison and Hershel, but then within a month they lost Bob, Beth, and Tyreese. And I think losing Beth got him a little extra because he probably feels like hershel trusted Rick to keep his girls safe, and she died....it's just a lot. I can understand Rick's mental state is not good but he's still trying to hold it together. That's not even accounting for the exhaustion, hunger, etc they are no doubt going through. I do however love how, even though Rick is the leader of the group, he will and does listen to the group, ask their opinions, and heeds their advice a lot. Not all leaders do that. Oh, and when Rick was talking to Michonne about taking 'his family' to the new camp, he didn't just mean Carl and Judith, he considers the whole group a big family. The group desperately needs a break, some respite, being 'out there too long' will make you crazy, detached, callous, and you can become 'too far gone', as they say. It sucks, Aaron does seem really nice but the last group we met literally were going to eat us, and ate our friend's leg while he was alive watching it happen....trust no longer comes easy. Getting into a new and interesting phase for our group, can't wait to see it all go on.

I agree it’s nice to see Michonne & Glenn talk Rick down from time to time. Still I feel very bad for Rick because it must be so much worse for him as the group’s leader because of the responsibility he feels for all of their lives. Walking into a new community with his baby daughter must be terrifying.
