The nuanced way it represents so many marginalized groups and difficult issues whilst remaining so unashamedly joyful and uplifting is beyond words. I’ve been incredibly lucky with my family, friends and finding my own “Charlie” we just celebrated our 18th anniversary. For many having this story at the right time will absolutely save lives. Hi Alice. Thank you for Heartstopper. I may be on the downward slide to my 50s, but Heartstopper has done so much for me. It has helped me to sort out so much in my head and to accept the fact that I am gay (like Charlie I have known since a very young age that "It's always been boys"!) and it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. It's time for me to get over my high school straight boy crush (after 30 years of silent pining) and look for my Nick or Charlie. You have written two beautiful characters who have touched me so deeply. Both Nick and Charlie are each one letter away from my own personality type, and I think that helped me to see parts of myself in both of them. Thank you 🏳️‍🌈❤️

I wanted to say thank you for putting out such a positive universe for queer kids. I heard about the Netflix announcement of Season 2 & 3, which is so exciting, but probably a lot more work for you. You have created something amazing and I just wanted to say if you need a longer hiatus or less personal involvement in the next streaming seasons, then that is ok. From what I've seen you have a great team around you to help bring your vision to life. I remember waiting 8 years for a sequel to Sabriel by Garth Nix, an extra few months or years for you to put out work you can be happy with is nothing.

But the comic, the netflix serie, the books and all the characters you created and the cast you decided really helped me to not give up amd gave me courage again (and is still giving me morivation). Thank you Alice for creating such a beautiful and moving story that highlights not just a blossoming romance in the LGBTQ+ community but also openly discusses (the unfortunately still taboo subject of) mental health. Having read the comic before the series came out I immediately felt a connection with Charlie and what he was/is going through. I never in my life thought I would one day read something and feel as though some of the negative aspects of my youth would be told in a way that would not make it out to be a weakness, but rather something that can be overcomd. This has actually giving me the strength I've been lacking for many years to also start seeking support which I don't think I would have ever done if it were not for your creativity and portrayal of mental health. Alice, I don't know if you take time to read these but "heartstopper" has changed my life. I am fortunate to not have much homophobia in my life and I married my charlie 2 years ago. But your words and stories give me life! I finished season 1 on netflix and went back to the stories to realize that several of my fav scenes weren't in the books. I am just in awe of you and your talent in creating such a relatable and sorely needed story. As an older gay man I wish growing up we had books like this. Being who you are was still very much frowned apone. any lgbtq+ love story always ended tragicly we never got our happy ending. It always seemed as if we didn't deserve it. After the show came out a friend of mine posted that he had offered to bulk buy copies of your books for his old school. The school said yes so now kids in schools who relate to anyone of these characters has the ability to feel seen. I want to say thank you for creating not only a wonderful story but also amining it at a generation which get over looked when it comes to representation.

I've just spend the day reading your books after watching the show and I so hope future seasons include Charlie's mental health journey. Growing up I was in Nick's position (as well as having my own issues) and I wish I had something like this in my life. I actually (happy) cried reading it because no one taught me how to deal with it back then and your books do that so beautifully. I just watched all of the Heartstopper Netflex episodes at once and wanted you to know how perfect they are. They don’t take away from the books at all - they perfectly capture the magic you conjured in the books. Loved the sweet actors (every single one of them), the music, the illustrations, everything. I know you’ve been feeling low - just wanted you to know what a huge difference you make in the world and how thankful I am to have discovered your art. Be gentle with yourself and take care!

I have to apologize first. My English is not very good. That's why I use the translator. Alice. The heartstopper I saw first on Netflix. Then I had to read books and then I bought all the comics. Unfortunately, it all lasted for only one day. 😇 In the fourth part of the comic book, I learned that the fifth will be the last. You probably have a reason for that, but please. Try to consider at least some book. Do you know why I ask you to? I've seen the series on Netflix about 15 times( and I will continue😉), all the books, the comics - I don't even know how many times. and do you know why? Every time I watch a show or read comics, I can just smile, I'm in a great mood, and the world is suddenly ... I don't know ... calmer? more pleasant? No one has done this before. And I have to thank you for that. I thank you with all my heart! If you need to rest, take as much time as you need. you will get it as much as you need. once again. Thank you!

I've just joined patreon today because of you. Binge watched Heartstopper with my wife and then used the bank holiday very wisely to read the entire Heartstopper story on tapas yesterday. Alice, as a bi woman who didn't get to grips with her sexuality until 18 and then "forgot" about it again for a good few more years, I am SO thrilled about what you have created. I am delighted that young queer kids will see themselves represented and therefore manage to understand what they're feeling much better and know that it's ok to feel the way they do. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. It gives me so much hope that the next generation of lgbtq+ people won't have it quite as tricky as my generation did. On a positive note, been with my wife for 8 years and we have a toddler - it's totally worth being your authentic self! I used up a lot of my mobile bandwidth to watch Heartstopper because it came out on the day I had to spend a lot of time riding the train but I just couldn’t wait and it was totally worth it! 😭😍 Since then, I‘ve rewatched the whole series multiple times and I‘m still not done! It‘s just so so good and I am so relieved that there is a lot of chemistry between the actors 🥰I can really tell that you put a lot of work into this and we are all so so proud of you! ♥️ I hope your break is exactly what you need right now and I wish you all the best 🌸 I do have a tiny question but don‘t feel like you need to answer. I just noticed that the 'You‘re staring' line right before Nick tells Charlie that he came out to Tara got switched from Charlie in the comic version to Nick in the series version. I‘m just curious as to why this change happened. I don‘t mind it, I just thought it strange.

O Alice, i have no idea if you will read this but I just finished the new volume one TV tie-in edition with the exclusive script extracts, and I loved these so so much. I was wondering if there’s any chance for your Patreon‘s to get an exclusive extract from the rugby match scene in episode eight, which left all fans sobbing and wholesome bc it was so perfect. I have read that you rewrote it several times, the process behind it and a wee extract from the final version would be so cool as Patreon content, I would love that so much!! The show makes me so happy, I’m so obsessed with it, it ate my whole last week in every possible positive way. Thank you so much for all your hard and passionate work to make it happen.
