MerMay - Nick and Charlie!
Some of you may have already seen these on my social media, but... I drew some things for MerMay :D
$5 patrons - there's not going to be a page today or tomorrow as I'm away staying at a friend's house. I'm so sorry, I really really hoped I would be able to draw at least one page in advance, but I just didn't manage it in time.
The past month or so has been really, really hard for me in terms of workload. I've been working from the moment I wake up until the moment I go to sleep and I've had so many things to work on, especially my fourth book, which I need to get finished this month or I will truly despise myself! I can't wait until my fourth book is finished and I can go back to focusing on Heartstopper for a little while - making this comic really is my happy place and I sort of wish I could just do it all the time (but then I would definitely damage my hands haha). Anyway, I'm just saying all this so that you understand why the update on the 21st May is probably going to be another guest comic so I can take a week or so this month to JUST focus on writing. I'll post about this on my main social media closer to the time!
It's a busy busy crazy time for me at the moment and I feel like I'm going a little bit insane, but it will pass, if I can just get this bloody book finished.

I can only agree with all the comments before me 💖 *turns Mum mode on* 😅 Self-care & your health must come first! Heartstopper might be your happy place, but you wouldn't write books if you didn't like it either - trying to squeeze too many things into a day for a long time might just stress you out so much that you might start despising the things you enjoyed so much before. And I don't even want mention your mental and physical health 💖 Please, please, take all the time you need. 💖💖💖 We love Heartstopper, but we love you more, Alice! You come first and must come first in this equation of Author & Comic & Book & Readers/Fans 💖💖💖 So please, don't spread yourself too thin 💖 All this leads to, and I've seen it happen again and again, even to myself, is that you burn out and need to step away for months to heal and recover. We can absolutely survive a few weeks and even months with less comic updates or with actual breaks of several days. A page a day is a crazily insane rhythm. We completely understand!! 💖💖💖 And also: WE WILL GET A NEW BOOOOOOOOOK!!! 😍😍😍😍😍 Wahoooo!! All the best for your writing!! Being stressed about the comic does not help to get into the *writing zone*. Oh gosh, they're so cuuuute! 😍😍😍 Nick is so intrigued by those "soft things" haha and Charlie is a bit alarmed 🤣 "What is going on??!!" And then the kiss!!! Underwater!! The colours and their expressions!! So beautiful!! And then Charlie gasping for air 😍😍😍 with the wet hair!! I love how Nick is curled around him so protectively, holding him up, so Charlie can catch his breath and take his time. You can just see the love in Nick's eyes!! An absolutely gorgeous pair and meant for each other in any universe 💖💖💖 Thank you so much for sharing, Alice!!

Take all the time you need, and take some for yourself as well! We’ll be there when you can/want to get back! This drawing made me want to read all the mermaid AUs I can find, this is going to kill my productivity !
