Nearly 10 years exactly how cool is that!

It has recently occurred to me over the few months the connections and similarities I have between nick and charlie lol!! When I was around 3- i had my 'blankie' just like nick- i also had a blackish grey cat whom I named CHARLIE and at the same age I was obsessed with spiderman (throwing it back to the page drawn of char dressed as spiderman), im also similar to nick in the sense of people a people pleaser and putting others first, i do like my rugby- but not as much as him (in terrible at it, I only watch when my team plays haha), and for Charlie, well, yeah😅 (academically, bullying, mental health from said bullying,) so this series and pages you have drawn i really saw myself in, cannot wait to see the epilogue 🩷

Truly incredible -- the end of an era in your life and by extension for all of us. It suddenly occurred to me that you started drawing those first pages about 6 weeks before I retired from 37 years of secondary teaching -- English and Theatre. 2016 was a turning point for me, but I wasn't aware that another turning point was already coming. The single piece of storytelling that has most affected me in all my adult years was being begun as I was winding my career down. I can't ever thank you enough for the deep self-examination and joy your work has brought me. CONGRATULATIONS and thank you.

Aaaah, Alice. The struggle between seeing the beauty and celebration of being able to end Heartstopper when and how you envisioned it, versus the sadness and grief that comes with being "done." I think that is why endings are meant to be a sacred space of messiness and uncertainty...there is this push and pull of really deep emotions that leaves you feeling so heavy, and there is also this mixed hope that comes from finally having the potential space and freedom you have longed for at times to see what comes next for you, even as you grieve the daily routine that revolved around Heartstopper. Sacred spaces allow for growth and creativity and rejuvenation and peace...and, eventually, I hope you can take a moment to pause and breathe and to just be...but right now, today, I am sending hugs and tissues and reminders that it's okay to be sad...I'm sad too. Heartstopper has given you and us readers SO much...and that isn't something that says goodbye easily. Take extra good care of you today...light a candle, play the piano, and know you are so loved and appreciated. Congratulations on having created such a hopeful, healing, happy romance story.
