I have some interesting information that I would like to share with you. First, I received a whole package of new blades from the hardening shop. I changed the steel I work with to a better grade, but it requires a very thorough hardening process that can only be achieved in professional furnaces. In the meantime, I'm making your medallions. I will try to send them by the end of June. Once again, thank you very much for your interest. Regarding the workshop, I turned to local businesses and authorities. Will the new steel have similar properties to the spring steel you were using? In my (limited) research I read that spring steel was really nice because it resisted deforming and breaking. I'm far from an expert so I trust your judgement either way!
This steel has similar properties in terms of elasticity and strength, but it sharpens better and is not more resistant to chipping.
