Adult content on internet is disappearing :(
Complicated times...
Itch.io has deindexed adult games. It means that my game is still online but we cannot "find" it by browsing, so my traffic of new players has dropped to zero.
It's supposed to be temporary. They put new rules (being more strict on what fetish is forbidden or not), and then after controlling all games one by one they will put back the browsing, after banning games that doesn't follow new rules.
I shall be safe, because this happened to Patreon a long time ago, and the "new" itch.io rules are the same as current Patreon rules.
X/twitter also decided to hide adult content for all EU users, it hurts haha, but I can still post "Sfw" or just sexy.
At least nothing happened to Patreon, I think they already resolved this issue long time ago so it's okay.
We will see if the situation change, but I have to be more active regarding how to promote my game and content.
So, situation is, my traffic and player base is very affected, but it doesn't affect you that are already a player.
The next update should be uploaded the last day of the month (or before?), but I expect a lot less activity :(
I will have to work on finding new efficient way to receive traffic of new players

They did that to steam games for a bit and it got reversed so hang in there

You can thank Sweet Baby Inc 2.0 known as Collective Shout for that. They targeted Mastercard and Visa to censor Sexual content on the whole internet, not just games. effectively censoring people by not allowing us to use our own damn money.

But you could also create your own website where you offer your games. Another artist on Patreon whom I support did the same thing because he also had problems.

My main problem with this new wave of bans is what they will consider "hate speech". It's a word that can mean virtually anything. And this will be just an excuse for persecution and deplatforming like is already happening.
Yeah they've already been using this as an excuse to ban LGBT content - they're already using it to censor anything they don't approve of
ugh sorry you are now hit with this. it theory it sounds good but in practice its really WAY too broad of a sweeping change to itch.io AND steam. a lot of good people get caught up in the sweep that had nothing wrong with the games they put out.

UK is slowly becoming an Islamic county sadly. A month(ish) or so ago some people were arrested for burning a Quran. However if you burn a Bible it's ok and almost encouraged. Had plans to love there but now I probably won't unless I get a huge business proposal

Thankfully, it seems this crackdown has illicited retaliation from a very uplifting majority of people. Those moral hypocrites will be forced to back down again soon enough.
There is also the VISA and MasterCard fiasco trying prevent people from buy 'adult' games on Steam.
So many problems caused by people wanting to do what they think is right.... I hope that people come to their senses and make them back down
From what I heard they were going after payment services on restricting content, but I figured once the companies start losing on the bottomline they are going to tell these puranitcal tyrants to shove it. Sex sells. Plain and simple.
Yeah they're already facing insane backlash - they're probably gonna back down eventually and issue an "apology"

You have to consider a personal website that you control at this point I think. Not sure how it would work for the EU though.
It would have to follow EU laws otherwise you site would be restricted or blocked.

LOL they didn't solve shit. Nobody solved anything because these puritanical tyrants will never stop trying to censor and/or ban things they don't like. Patreon just isn't on the radar now. If we don't keep pushing back, it'll only be a matter of time before anything deemed "offensive" is on the chopping block.
