BONUS: Who Moves America feat. Yael Bridge & Antonio Rosario
Amber Frost interviews Yael Bridge and Antonio Rosario, the director and a subject of the new Teamsters documentary Who Moves America. We talk about previous Teamsters struggles, the state and future of union organizing, and how Yael captured their fight on the precipice of a historic strike.

I’m seeing a lot of chirping from the sidelines here, but I’m a worker organizer working on the hotel strike in Chicago right now. For all the beautiful solidarity that comes out of these fights, it can be incredibly lonely. It’s hard to exist in this movement when the majority of the left seems to genuinely hate workers. Thank you for making me feel less lonely. To the people on this thread who are dismissing these workers much braver than themselves: please ask yourself why you hate worker power so much.
The only good thing the teamsters ever did was fund mob Vegas.
Amber sounds like Indiana.
I’m in a corporation first union whose heyday was during my first decade working at the company. I’ve been part of the force fighting against the corruption. Solidarity always to those fighting for workers.
The only people in here who can be criticizing "The Teamsters" are people salting a union or organizing theirs. Fucking armchair organizers dont know fuck all about how nearly impossible it is to organize a workforce, 10 FOLD within a union with corrupt or lackey leadership like the teamsters. Im not defending "The Teamsters" here. But a valid criticism coming from someone completely disengaged from finding a solution is worthless and we all know thats that what these comments are. Meanwhile this interview was with an organizer who obviously has his own struggle within his union (shouting out TDU and the "No" movement).
hello I salted and formed a union before (contract 2 this year!!!) so I have the valid license to say its okay to shit on the teamsters they do actually suck. good luck to these guys but even if they take back national the local presidents run their sets like feudal lords there is so little factually you can do to change the teamsters in the non coastal parts of the country where social pressure no longer works
So are these TDU guys I'm assuming who weasled their way onto the podcast because podcasters know nothing about intra union politics?
sorry dry boys and amber i know your teamsters friends on the coasts are probably really cool but its the labor bastion of reaction and demagoguery outside of that part of the country. and before you say kentucky i live in kentucky they are either lying to you or you found the needle in the haystack ive seen those boys cross seiu and ibew pickets
What the fuck is this labour stuff? I subscribe for Landman recaps and Fromsoft lore. Keep your politics out of my podcast feed!
Big Titty Ambers back!
C'mon
Not a bonus if its this inteeview instead of normal chapo
Teamsters should move America directly into the sun, with them up front
time to listen to this while i get fucked in the ass working my part time shift at ups
What did u think?
Double portion of vegetables for all us piggies this week.
I know the teamsters, they're from the movie Casino.
It’s not really a “bonus”. It’s just the episode
I was just gonna say… It’s only a bonus if they put out another ep on the normal slop deposit schedule.
Speaking of Kentucky I hope you guys do some work with the IBEW out here. I'm an apprentice in my last year and I feel like I won the lottery finding anything with actual benefits around here
Doing the world's biggest jack off motion to this. Amber needs to stop fetishizing the teamsters. Especially since their president keeps sucking off trump for no gain.
Dude you gotta start somewhere. Teamsters kept my family off welfare back in the day. Not saying there aren't valid critiques but the holier than thou stuff isn't gonna get us anywhere
Too bad the Teamsters are siloed in to only safe spaces for Capitalism. I drove a semi over the road for 20 years and never saw that proud union make a single overture to the OTR drivers who, if only lightly organized, could bring the entire country to its knees. To me, the Teamsters union is only allowed to exist so people like Amber can’t pretend we have effective trade unions.
Preach brother. A lot of private unions are labour cartels. They are fine with capitalism, they just want a cut. That might be useful and necessarily to a extent but lets not fetishize them either.
Hurray, an episode about one of the most backward, regressive unions in the country. A critique of “what the fuck happened to unions” would have been brilliant, but instead I’m assuming we’re about to receive a glowing, revisionist hagiography of The Teamsters.
Don't equate the union leadership with the rank and file workers who just want better working conditions and higher pay.
The union makes us strong!
My dad was a teamster. I would have been one too but I crashed the fuckin forklift and got fired.
