1055 - The Hills Have Eyes 2 feat. Jasper Nathaniel (7/20/26)
Journalist Jasper Nathaniel returns to the show for another look at the state of the West Bank. We talk about continuing settler rampages, mass shootings ignored by Israeli authorities, and Ro Khanna’s recent trip to the occupied lands.

Holy fuck, Mukhmas mentioned 🥺. These are literally some of DJ Khaleds family members (like cousins) for the record. My sis in law/bestie is one of the Palestinian-American families who has spent their lives living back and forth between Florida, Philadelphia, and Mukhmas. My first husband was from Tulkaren and used to joke that they were soft because they were one of the safer areas of the WB. They still had IDF soldiers tormenting people so "soft" was very very relative to in-Palestinian crowd lol but it was definitely seen as a safer area of the WB by the people who grew up there.
I mean Superman had a scene where they murder a guy who is obviously a proxy of Bibi
Despite the surrounding context, that character seemed more of a Balkan warcrime leader analogue to me
I don’t think it’s dehumanizing to say that people who weren’t raised in settler states don’t hate others purely based on where they’re from (1:05:00ish). Ethnostate projects educate their children from birth that the national project is inherently good, and so all it’s efforts abroad are good by default. This inculcates a broad perception in people socialized within the state that the people our nation commits violence against are evil by nature, so we end up hating them for where they’re from. People who were not raised in an ethnostate but instead were raised within a culture might instead choose to believe that good people can be found everywhere, regardless of creed, nationality or ethnicity. Blind hatred based on where you’re from seems like a settler ideology to me
bloodthirsty ghouls
Ha ha
*Felix 8 mins into a 12 min question* : "Derogotype"
Can someone explain Will’s “Can’t read Dostoevsky on the train” remark? Thanks!
when Russia started the war everything remotely related to russia was shunned and cancelled including stage plays from authors from centuries ago and you'd get dirty looks reading Russian anything as if you were supporting the war with it
I don't need to be a recovering junkie to know that Ro Khanna isn't to be trusted. He's a room reader and a snake. I don't like this idea that Palestinians need to rely on ppl like him to improve their lives. That should be all our jobs as decent, caring ppl, it shouldn't come down to singular politicians or a single political party, it shouldn't come down to obviously untrustworthy ppl like Ro Khanna. Really fcking dogsht that ppl like him are seen as anything but the barest minimum, that in some meaningful ways the future of Palestinian ppl may lay in his hands and the hands of ppl like him.
Jeremy Scahill>>>
Sorry, I can’t listen to this. It’s too painful.
I definitely need to listen to this one in smaller doses. My heart breaks for the Palestinians.
In the meantime in Ulm, Germany a 77 years old guy had to appear in front of the judge because he was wearing a T-shirt with a "pro Hamas slogan" (it was just from the river to the sea...)
I won't even tip if I think my server is trying to kill me

Does anyone know if Matt still gets Chapo money? If he doesn’t, I’m out. I just can’t do this without Matt.
He almost certainly does. The name, brand and IP were built by Matt. I'm sure they compensate him for the show's continued success, which would not be what it is without him. Which is also to say I think they probably are still paying one Virgin Texas too
By the way, I don’t know if Bible Chapo is going to become a regular thing, but if it does you have to have somebody on to discuss Jordan Peterson’s post-Benzo coma sequence of Bible interpretations including (I am not kidding) the claim that Judas’s sin was ‘toxic empathy.’
Great episode
All hail Jasper. What a great guy and great follow up ep. Hail the greats!! Chapo forever!
imagine if a US congresscritter went to visit Ukraine and got ransacked by a roaming Azov thugs lmao the whole country could be turned into a radioactive glass table within hours
I mean realistically it wouldn't, since Ukraine is important to the US government in the proxy war with Russia (and they also ideologically agree with Azov and Ukrainian nationalists in general).
Hearing Jasper lay down the straight cold fact of what it would take for the liberal Zionists to get their way would mean war with Israel and that’s obviously never going to happen that’s the absolute end of that position to be held by a single liberal/progressive moving forward. Everyone needs to start using that logic towards these people when it’s brought up in any venue. We also need to start treating J-Street like we do AIPAC.
Shapiro will run in 2028 and he will be shoved down everyone's throats as the only "realistic" option. This is the episode to bookmark to remind yourself why he's complete non starter. It feels easy to say now but their psychic warfare is relentless and effective and people are suddenly swayed by it when they use the best of two bad options cudgel every four years.
It’s amazing that right leaning dems can still defend Israel
Incredibly difficult listen but thankful for Jasper’s reporting. Power and solidarity to Palestinian resistance ❤️💚🖤🤍
Jesus this is heartbreaking. I’m glad to have listened though.
Fuck I love it when Felix makes clear that Israel needs to be militarily defeated and dismantled
Japan is a good example, they aren't allowed to have a real army and they had to invent Anime to whitewash their international reputation lol
great guest, great ep
The sgt spears allegory worked so well Felix still has his heater
Brutal episode. May Israelis around the world never have peace.
When the inevitable backlash occurs and all these zionists are rounded up and taken to a dark place where people go but never come out of, nobody will mourn or feel sympathy for them
I'm an adult, so I don't have thoughts or fantasies like this much anymore. But hearing accounts like these really do make me imagine what kind of shit I would get up to IMMEDIATELY if I woke up with Homelander powers. This is so grim and infuriating to listen to.
He was only shocked because it happened to him. "But its me" Im American.
When it comes to politics, Palestine is a red line. No more tolerating Liberal Z BS both sides-ism. We need real internationalism.
Is anyone else just angry all the time? The psychotic bully behavior of the settlers and Israelis just makes me want to scream. But I don't know what to do other than donate money and harass my elected officials who never answer the phone.
How am I supposed to listen to a story of a monster sniping school kids from a hilltop then walk into my office and meet with people like everything is business as usual?
I've cut back on my alcohol consumption and started eating more vegetables because I am determined to outlive the state of Israel.
The pictures of Fahd Abu Haikal mourning his baby and carrying his body are almost too much to bear.
Sitting here feeding my baby listening to this story about the father watching his baby son be murdered. I feel like I’m going to be sick.
Describing that 7mo scenario.... I went from genuine horror to visceral anger and had to pause this to scream. How could you ever forgive that?
The concept of someone being the kindest person you've ever met simply because you didn't want to kill them just makes me wanna weep
i watch everyone suddenly shitting on khanna with suspicion. look how everyone turned on him after he called out the idf. im sure im alone in this but scahill was a petulant shit in that interview.
Khanna said Israel has a right to kill Palestinians and that Palestinians don't have a right to fight back and he's the one who needs to be defended from "petulant" journalists who point that out
I am filled with immense rage
Yeah whenever people whine about Palestinians being homophobic all I answer with is "it's hard to be enlightened when bombs are falling constantly" Kirk and others like him accuse Hamas of throwing gay people off of buildings, but my recollection is that ISIS were the first people accused of that, and I assume westerners decided Hamas was doing the same because HAMAS EVIL PLEASE IGNORE BIBI BRIBING HAMAS
"there is legislation maybe coming down the pipe that could materially help people I know personally... But maybe its a net negative, i dont know the answer to that". Damn thats an interesting question, maybe we SHOULD find an answer to it and act accordingly. Or i guess we could just wait and see then report on it.
Not saying this to shit on the guy, but these types of questions when asked beg answers. Its all of our responsibility to try to answer them.
Remember kids: dissent is never tolerated, and obedience is never enough
Very good, even though it leaves me feeling disgusted and exhausted. Palestine is an issue that, for any moral clarity and seriousness, requires regular updates. The last 3 years have made it that for my entire life, I can never forgive the Israelis, I’ll hate them till the day I die.
When I listened to part one I actually got a little nauseous, so I'm really eager to hear this one.
Damn, imagine being a Palestinian communist
That's being in the PFLP, DFLP, or PFLP-GC.
“I missed the texts from his staff because I was busy getting assaulted myself.” I don’t think there’s a more courageous journalist than Jasper Nathaniel right now. (He might be a touch crazy too).
With the film title reference I'm forced to ask when will we get more movie mindset?
"just take it" is EXACTLY what the Ro "Kumbaya" Khanna thinks the Palestinians should do. did this guy not fucking listen to the fuckin interview. What's this Pollyanna shit Jasper is on?
I don’t know that it’s possible for the standard Dem politician to understand the absolute rage many of us feel towards Israel. It is now a core part of me. It’s never going to fade. There’s nothing they can do to win me back. I cannot vote for an Israel supporter.
East and West Germany was a 2 state solution 🤔
Even if he only is doing it cynically for political expediency that is a good thing. You want the right thing to be the easy way. If you expect politicians to do the right thing morally, we’re looking at the wrong place.
Democrats will turn support for Palestine into a meaningless signifier. This era will be judged by the treatment of the Palestinians. Westerners deserve nothing.
It already is; look how many zealots Platner amassed by paying lip service
The masses in the semi periphery call abbas the white wolf the of the westbank
I somehow wasn't ready to be this angry. Holy shit.
"west Bank settlers are valid military targets" -Ethan Klein
It's international Salo and it seems it means little to anyone in the highest seats of power except for opportunity, and I mean even those in support of this. Its zen Amorality at the top and murder/suicide orgasm for the lower lumpen elite. While a village tries to sleep at night and go to school
Good episode but whats with the Olga in bed music at the end?
Mozart's "Lacrimosa", plays at the end of an absolute banger anti-war film "Come and See", as in come and see the horrors and atrocities of WW2, young man.
Respect to Jasper for not knowing Josh Shapiro's name. More people should do this.
“Put some respeck on my name, y’all feel me?” - Josh Shapiro
No person alive today not in Hamas deserves heaven
A die hard Abbas supporter is basically a Palestinian cryptid
Fitting that the outro music is the song they play at the end of Come and See
The clear sense of impunity these "settlers" relish in as they openly steal will always be what I think of when I think about Israel and Israelis. That is the essence of Israel.
NGL I saw the title and thought this was Movie Mindset S3 E1
we should send all of Congress to the west bank so they can be detained and abused in custody. they would love it
Settwers? Oswo Accords?
God bless Jasper, so succinctly put that Israel is the enemy of humanity. To be honest it isnt a matter of two state solutions or one state where Palestinians have to endure living next to genocidal lunatics who get off on abusing animals and rape. This society needs to be destroyed, the squatters, thugs, and demons whom call themselves israeli either forcibly removed, and de nazified. It is the most evil repugnant thing to exist on this earth today, it cannot exist
Even the most cursory research into the opinions/mindset on the ground in Israel makes it abundantly clear that the ONLY way to make these people stop killing is total disarmament and occupation by an outside force to de-nazify these freaks for at least a couple generations until the ethnonationalist tendency dies.
Jasper and all the West Bank reporters are truly heroes ❤️
Israel and the US government are one and the same. You cannot take on one without also taking the other on, and both are more than ready to use violence to protect their positions.
Felix begins speaking at 10 minutes and 39 seconds
Any other thoughts on this episode? Or is that your main takeaway?
shockingly the horror movie is actually less rapey
The story about the father who lost his son made me cry. I want fires to cleanse the earth of the state of Israel and its rotten people
Sometimes I remember the Lavender AI targeting sub-program the IDF designed to determine when a target had just arrived home named "Where's Daddy?" and just lose it again, picturing my daughter rushing to the door. The Israelis really have used high-tech, ultra-alienating fascist indoctrination to turn themselves into enemies of everything human.
Oh a fun one today!
I’m JD Vance’s new baby. Hopefully I get baptized unlike my heathen mother.
I followed Jasper's Substack after one of the previous shows he's been on so I knew this was coming. Haven't listened yet but with the preview I've had from his reporting, I'm mentally preparing myself
It's a tough listen.
My heart hurts
[REDACTED]
just from the title I thought this was about the new JD Vance book
excellent pairing with the last Radio War Nerd about the western media genocide whitewash campaign. the Suicidal Delight
Yeah, that Adam Johnson dude rocked.
these ones are very difficult to get through. important and I'm gonna listen, but it's absolutely infuriating and rage-inducing to just take in this information knowing nothing will be done and most of us can only sit back, watch, and scream when given the chance. cheers to the few that are continuing to try, putting their lives on the line, getting in these monster's faces and doing what they can to help the Palestinians though 🖤
it makes me want to do things to richie torres i can't say online
Weee
woo
