Know how I can render just the tornado?
Sure! Just turn on transparent to disable HDRI showing in the background (under Film in Render settings.) and disable render or delete the ground planes. Also make sure you've 'baked' the smoke simulation in Blender 2.8 before rendering!

I've followed the tutorial with all the parameters, but I can't get the tornado shape on Blender 2.93~3.10. The tornado looks more like a Christmas tree with many spikes protruded out. Interesting.. seems something must have changed in the Blender Simulation physics or settings. Maybe getting time for a new Tornado tutorial?!

Hey Steve, I've just joined, and would like to know how long this takes to render. I have pretty good specs: 64-bit Windows 10 OS Intell i7 8700K CPU Geforce GTX 1070 Ti 32Gb RAM R.O.G. Hero Motherboard. It's just that so far your file, with a couple of tweaks to personalise it a bit has taken about 14 hours to render...I did extent the file to 500 frame though...

Hey Mikeson, did you Bake the simulation? This needs to be done before rendering as the bake cache files can't be uploaded with the .blend. Hope that helps!

Question on final rendering. I'm totally new to all of this. I followed the tutorial and baked the tornado. I then added some trash flying around and a ground plane with some grass, etc. I'm trying to render out the final animation and everything is rendering, except the tornado. It is stuck at frame 1 and rendering still in each image. Did I miss a checkbox? By the way, amazing tutorials. Just the right pace.
Do you have the project saved and the simulation baked? If its left un-baked you will only get 1 frame rendering, so I'm guessing this is your issue.

Rendering in CPU Intel i7 16GB ram with Nvidia Ge-force 6GB Video Card
That sounds about right, volumetric smoke rendering just takes some time. You could reduce the number of samples in the render settings, or reduce the resolution a bit.
How long does it normally take to render a file like this. PNG or AVI? I must be doing something wrong because it is taking around 52 minutes a frame. Thanks
Depending on your hardware that could be normal. Are you rendering with a GPU? or just CPU?

No problem! The Tornado is included in the finished version, you just need to click Bake on the simulation and let that run. (Because of the file size of the Bake files it can't be uploaded.)
Thanks for the link... One question ... how to add motion blur to the tornado if i render a still image ?
Motion blur in Cycles only actually works on the particle debris. And this will still be rendered with blur in a still image if the particles are moving in the scene.
