Nude Byte Extras: October 2024

I plan to spend the entire October transferring the rest of the posts from Manyakis to ManyakisGames.

However, part of this is reworking the Fanart cards' PSDs.
Why is there a need to rework, you ask? Because before, the PSDs of the Fanart cards didn't include the Large-Breasts versions of the artworks. (If you have the means to check those old PSD files, you will notice this)
So, this time, instead of simply copying/pasting those PSDs, I'm revisiting the old files to make new PSDs. And this time, the Large-Breasts versions will be included.

All the while, I'm also fixing a few details when needed, depending on the artwork.

However, while working on all these Fanart cards, I also want to take this opportunity to make their "de-copyrighted" versions.
What does that mean, exactly?

It basically means I need to re-color (and sometimes alter) the fanarts so they will look generic enough to get away with copyright regulations. I need to do this to publish the game on Steam. (Steam doesn't allow copyrighted materials, after all)

Oof. This has got to be the worst kind of bootleg. My game may be about bootlegs, but this is just... bad.
It was funny (in an ironic way) at first. But after a while, I started hating this process.
I'm practically degrading these characters with random colors just to avoid copyright rules. And I have to do this for... (counting) 77 artworks. x4 for their 4 versions. (Not even counting the frames of the animated ones)

It's a huge pain in the ass for me, but I have to if I want to put this game on Steam.

(This will not affect the itch io version. If the game really makes it to Steam, I'll probably make a separate patch to turn them into their original look)

And that is why I decided to focus on this process for this entire month. I'm hoping to finish all these before the price increase happens.

And while I was working on these PSDs, I also found some sketches that weren't used back when all these "Fanart Cards" weren't even made yet:

This was back when the plan was that I had to come up with the characters myself. But when I later decided to make it into a monthly "Suggest a Character" for Patrons to decide, I had to dump these sketches.

Looking at it now, I probably can't use Adult Wendy because there are already 2 Gravity Falls characters in the roster.
I don't think I want to add Adult Anais either because it'll mean I have to make a Pair Fanart Card of Adult Anais (from the future) and Nicole (from the present) together, which wouldn't make any sense unless Nicole is a grandma. (Unless... Anais traveled back in time to the past to warn her mother of the incoming Terminator that will destroy mankind, which will later make Nicole kick that Terminator's ass! ... If that were a movie, I'd watch it.)
And I don't want to add any of the Star Butterfly characters because, well, I just don't want to.

Anyway, they look so dull when they're just sketches, so I decided to give them some quick colors:
