Hint for Tomorrow's Release
Hello, lovely!
Tomorrow's pattern was inspired by a truly groundbreaking garment and includes a fairly fundamental technique that we've never used before. The handsome designer who inspired me loved to push gender boundaries in clothing and became an LGBTQ activist (Happy Pride!).
Whatever could it be?

The Mondrian dress would be sooo cool! Ever since they featured it on Season 2 (I think it was??…) of The British Sewing Bee and contestants made versions of it I have been so intrigued to try it!!! Oh please let this be it!!!
It's got to be a magnificent YSL tribute.
Oh, and color blocking would be the new technique!
I’m never anywhere close with my guess so I’m just going to wait it out LOL
-sigh- 🥺I was so hoping that this month’s pattern would be something ‘Marilynesque’ to celebrate what would have been Marilyn’s 100th birthday 🎉
Mondrian please! Always wanted to make one!
Leave Saint Laurent in the photo dresses and feminine style maybe it is a Tuxedo or jacket or tuxedo pants but I thought we covered that
Could YSL gender bending be anything other than a Tuxedo? And, OMG!!! If it’s a woman’s Tuxedo, I need the next week off, after my fabric arrives to make myself a Tuxedo… And why am I thinking about DreamTime Crystals? How many of the super tiny ones do I need for a collar and 2 vertical stripes?
Hmmm, 3.5 yards using a drapey fabric like rayon challis. Sounds like it could be a 70’s Rive Gauche blouse or maybe a peasant blouse?
Not a clue. And I fail to see why it matters who someone sleeps with.
Tuxedo jacket from Yves Saint Laurent? Xxx
Le smoking? That would be exciting! I love that look! 🤗
I was thinking Le Smoking also!
I was watching the British tv show"The Great British Sewing Bee" a few seasons ago. Back then the Mondrian Dress was one of the tasks the sewers had to accomplish. Nice 👍🏻😁
I am so intrigued!
I'll love some classic trousers with a zip front fly
I’m guessing (hoping for!) a sheer menswear style shirt…would be a good basic for summer over a cute strappy tank top
With roughly 3.5yds as suggested a few weeks ago it’s probably that blouse with “invisible” seams
Oh! I love his 1950s designs where he used bows and ties to shape and sculpt garments!
So excited!!
Please PLEASE be a tuxedo like the one worn by Twiggy in 1968.
Based on “fairly fundamental technique that we’ve never used before,” I guess the tuxedo with a J closed zipper.
I don't know much history about YSL fashion.
I don't care what it is! Anything YSL is fabulous!
I wonder if invisible seaming will be the technique.
I would be thrilled if that was the case! ☺️
I am SO READY for the Mondrian dress!!! - although anything Early YSL would be AWESOME!!
Has to be a suit!
Could be a tuxedo/le smoking 🤞
If it is the Mondrian Dress I will spontaneously combust...
😂😂😂😂😂❤️
A fitted suit jacket? Probably just wishful thinking.
OH PLEASE LET IT BE THE MONDRIAN dress!
I am so truly here for some gender bending design! Can’t wait for tomorrow!
Ooh - A YSL Mondrian dress colour-blocked garment perhaps?
The Mondrian dress?
Christian Siriano?
Happy Pride!
Ooo a classic ysl tuxedo....
I hope so! And the technique we haven't done before could be a fly front zipper.
