Hint for Tomorrow's Release
Hello, lovely!
I am beyond excited to share with you tomorrow's pattern, which was designed in collaboration with one of my favorite fellow designers. If you've been paying attention, you probably know who it is!
But do you know what the pattern will be? The garment was inspired by the 2026 Met Gala theme, and honors an icon of vintage fashion design.
Whoever could it be? Please put your guesses in the comments, then check back tomorrow for the surprise!
xoxo,
Gertie

I am confused! Do we have to pay to watch the video for the skirt?
Im trying to understand the knit + tulle combo and I’m ALL FOR IT!!
I need to make a dress for a summer wedding. Hope this will work
Ohhhh I can’t WAIT to see! I looked up Gunnar - just WOW! Definitely float and elegant and VERY stylish drape and shapes
Gunnar posted about the Met Gala today 👀👀
Schiaparelli absolutely does come to mind, but St Laurent did quite a bit of work inspired by art too. Unless the "dance" reference is about classic Hollywood ? Adrian? Head? Icon. Icon. Hmm. Givenchy collaborated with Audrey Hepburn who was a dancer. I give up. Looking forward to tomorrow.
Yes, also hoping for a Gunnar colab and as a guest on the next podcast!!!
A tutu!!
I am thinking Balenciaga...
Degas INSPIRED Definitely, sign me up!
As a ballerina I love everything Degas and ballet Inspired so if this picture is remotely close to the design I'M SO HERE FOR IT 🙌 thank you ☺️
Omg I need a holiday... I thought the collab was with someone whose artist name was "redacted" 🤦♀️🫣😂 thankfully everyone mentionner Gunnar Deatherage and now I know 🤣
I would love a tutu or a layered tulle skirt
Gunnar mentioned in his post yesterday he was in collab with some one too. I think it’s Gunnar.
Maybe inspired by Barbara Karinska?
All I can see is a cupcake dress
On Instagram a few days ago, a lingerie designer who has a business growth (blogger turned into business) similar to Gertie was online saying she had been in a meeting with Gertie about a collaboration
She mentioned June for that but I’m hoping she got the month mixed up… 🤞
Degas, isn’t it?
That’s the painting. I’ve been reading a lot about the inspiration behind that collection. It’s dark. Like holy cow.
Since the Met Gala theme was “Fashion is Art,” my hope is the collab is a design inspired by Elsa Schiaparelli.
Was also thinking the icon could be Schiaparelli! Very fashion is art
And all that tulle some people are thinking about looking at that picture ... I have no clue. But I have an opportunity to buy 10 yards of it with black velvet spots 😎
I am so excited! As a ballerina, I love Degas paintings!! I also love Gunnar so if that's who it is I am even more excited! That would be my two favorite designers collaborating on a ballet inspired look????? No way
Gunnar collab based on the email I got from him yesterday. So exciting!
Omg!!! This is too exciting!
I hope it's Gunnar! Although I am sewing his Violents Delight Robe right now and I am DYING 😅 If there's tonnes of gathering, I may have to sit this one out for a while 😵💫😅
Something lingerie like I imagine, considering who I saw on socials!
Think so too
Costume art...Fashion is art...Degas is famous for his painting of dancers...Dance is an art. I don't know with whom you've been collaborating. Confused but excited, for sure! EDIT: oh, it's Gunnar is it? Well, now I'm chuffed as hell! Woo-hoo!
Since dance is art, maybe a dress inspired by a dance scene with Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire?
This has to be a collab with Gunnar right??! 😍 (I will of course love whoever it is with)
This was my first thought!
I have NOT been paying attention but I am now! I love Degas and any pattern that is Degas-esque is definitely exciting! <3
Omg Degas inspired!?!
