10 Years of FrostWorks

Hiya there, everyone! Today--more or less, give or take a few days, it's hazy--marks the 10th anniversary since I started out on this crazy journey. So to celebrate, I had this super cute art made featuring a bunch of characters from FrostWorks' past, present, and maybe even future to come! I hope you enjoy all the cute antics unfolding amongst them all!

I don't normally make a habit out of celebrating these yearly milestones, since I always feel like I'm behind on something or another and it didn't feel right to do--but this is the big 1-0! So I felt like I had to do SOMETHING. And I hope this art serves that purpose well!

And, in addition to the art, I also put together a silly like celebratory style visual novel game--as it was the only other way I could think of expressing my thanks to all of those that have supported me and my endeavours across these 10 long years. You can play it here:

It's a very self-indulgent experience I put together, that again looks back on the past, the present and the scary future to come! It's chaotic, silly, and may often at times not make sense--but I hope you get some sort of enjoyment out of it, regardless!

For anyone wondering, I started putting this together right after I put out the 0.16 alpha build. I hadn't even drafted the script until then--so instead of relaxing after the new Chapter Two stuff I've just been working on this day in, day out, and practically became nocturnal, haha. I'm very happy with the results, though, and even got a little emotional reading back the final bits--but I have no idea how it's going to land for people that are nowhere as invested in all my silly little characters as I am.

Above all else, I just want to say that no matter what happens in the future, I'm incredibly grateful I got to spend these 10 years as I did. I met tons of awesome people in this community that formed around my works, got to work with equally awesome people that helped bring my stories and characters to life, and got to experience a whole bunch of stuff in life that I never imagined I would do--all thanks to the opportunities afforded to me as a result of this line of work I somehow stumbled into all those years ago.

Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine my hot, sleepless nights tinkering around with Renpy as far back as 2013 when I was fresh out of college with no money or prospects in life would lead to this. And now, I can't imagine any other life!
