At the voice of the guard moving at the rear of the caravan, the people around hurriedly turned around.
At that, without missing a beat, he continued, "Something's coming from behind! It's fast!!" and everyone, without hesitation, spread out along the highway or jumped up onto the roofs of the carriages, each taking their position and readying their weapons.
All that was left was to wait for contact with the enemy, but... when one of the merchants who'd been riding in the front carriage jumped out, he started shouting something.
"Hey! Why're you out here!"
"Anyone's fine, shove him into the carriage!"
While the guards were preparing for an attack, they tried to put the merchant who'd jumped out of the carriage back into it, but he shook them off and shouted loudly!
"You idiots!! That's Sera of Riana! Lower your weapons!!"
At those words, the guards stopped moving.

In order to catch up to the caravan ahead, I'd been flying along the highway at a fair speed, but the guards who'd noticed my approach were poised to intercept me.
Considering they could react even though there was still distance, these guards' skill didn't seem bad at all, but... even so, if they launched a preemptive attack on me, their position would get a little troublesome.
Before that happened, maybe I'd wave my hand so they could understand... just as I thought that, I heard some kind of commotion from the caravan line.
"They're shouting something, huh. They've got their weapons ready, but there's no sign they're going to attack... did they notice me too?"
Since I have 【Wind’s Garment】, I couldn't tell what they were shouting, but I could tell that the guards had lowered their stance.
For now, if this was the case, they probably wouldn't attack even if I got closer, but... just in case, I raised one hand and tried waving at them.
After a short pause, the person at the front... the person at the very rear waved back at me.

I finally realized what their attitude meant and muttered that.
Maybe they'd heard that mutter, because they made their shoulders twitch with a start.
"You don't have to worry about having your weapons ready. You were just in a stance; it's not like you did anything to me."
If there were some weirdo charging in from behind outside the city, it'd be only natural for the guards to go into an intercept stance.
Well... in my case, I've got various positions, so it isn't that simple, but... even so, it isn't something to be this intimidated over.
And yet, this level of fear.
At least, they're probably not people of this eastern territory or the Kingdom.
A country where nobles have strong power... somewhere in the west, maybe?
It's a little surprising that people from over there are coming overland without using ships, but... just because Riana is the final destination, maybe they'd also visited other territories in the country to pay their respects, so it isn't all that strange.
