"Oh? Found one."
I found a pack of kobolds a little ahead, so I turned around on the spot and told Zighart, who was following behind.
But Zighart stared at them for a few seconds, then shook his head.
"Oh my... not that one, huh."
At Zighart's request, I'm searching for the monsters he's targeting, but... so far, although I've found several groups, only two were the targets.
The success rate is below fifty percent.
The ones Zighart is targeting are monsters that have left the pack's command and are moving as they please... apparently, but I can't really tell how to distinguish them.
Well... it seems the discovery pace is faster now that I'm handling it, and rather than taking time to check in order to distinguish them, I should prioritize discovery and leave the checking to Zighart.
"Ah, found another one!"
After pulling myself together and resuming movement, I soon found another group.
After confirming Zighart, who was following a little late while jumping along the branches, I told him about the discovery again, and...
"...This time it seems it was a hit."
Like before, Zighart was glaring fixedly at the monsters, but it seemed they were the group he was after, and he smoothly extended a finger toward them.
Then, he fired one shot at a time.
The release of magical power was so subtle that even watching from the side I'd miss it, but the power seemed sufficient, and he accurately shot through their heads.
Paying me no mind as I watched that and went "Oh..." in surprise, Zighart flew across the branches and headed below the corpses.
Then, after jumping down from the tree, he cast magic at the corpses once more.
This time too it was only an instant, but in order to burn multiple corpses together, the magical power and force packed into it were far greater.
Even though we're in the forest, only for that moment the surroundings were illuminated by light.
The light I saw when searching for Zighart wasn't the light for defeating monsters, but this one, huh.
"Oh?"
The corpses still retained their shape, but Zighart left them as they were and jumped back up onto the tree.
"Zig-san, is it okay to leave them like that?"
"Yeah. Doing any more won't change much, and I don't want to use unnecessary magical power and call monsters. Let's move."
"Yeah, yeah. Which way are we going? I think we've already come pretty far west, though..."
By the time I joined up with Zighart, we were already quite far from the river, but from there we moved even further through the forest.
Even if we go straight out to the highway from here, the city walls of the territorial capital shouldn't be visible.
At my words, Zighart muttered, "That's true," and looked around.
"This area's enough...? Let's go back."
Saying that, he jumped down to the ground.

The forest patrol should be enough now... so we decided to wrap up and return to the territorial capital, but even when I suggested to Zighart that he use 【Small Orb】, he refused.
Alec is the same, but it seems riding that small ball just doesn't suit their sensibilities.
Even if they understand well enough that it's convenient, well... there's probably some point they just can't compromise on.
From my perspective, whether it's the main body or the 【Small Orb】, there's no doubt it's convenient, so it's no problem at all, though.
What about the other guys, I wonder?
Liesel might accept the convenience and use it, but what about August and Rick?
They'd probably refuse.

At my words, Zighart opened his mouth while grinning.
"August would probably politely decline... Rick would yell, maybe?"
It seems he had the same idea.
"It's convenient, though..."
"In the first place, you don't intend to lend it to people easily either, right?"
"I guess. Unless it's a dire emergency... and in the first place, in that kind of situation, it'd be better to hand it to Lady Sera or Teresa and fly together with them."
Zighart said, "That's what I mean," and laughed again.
